Come and enjoy wine and beer by the glass or by the bottle at Steve's Wine Bar. You will find a wide variety of wines not found in your typical grocery or liquor stores. There are typically 12 - 18 wines available for tasting, build your own flights, and by the glass. If you prefer to purchase a bottle to drink here, or to take with you, you will find nearly 200 different wines to choose from. Not

a wine drinker but you like (or love) someone who enjoys wine? With 6 different beers on tap and many more by the bottle, you can enjoy your evening with your wine loving friends with a few tasty beers in hand. We are not a restaurant, so you have the option to bring your own food (BYOF) or you can order from several of the surrounding restaurants and have your meal delivered directly to the bar to enjoy with some great wine and beer. If you are looking for a relaxed place to host a small party, gathering, or meeting, you can call and book our Tasting Room which can hold upwards of 30 people. Give us a call and tell us about your plans and we can work with you to put together a fun event for you and your group. And YES, we sell ci**rs to-go and enjoy on our back patio. We have over 40 different ci**rs to choose from.

For those wondering what we were up to the last couple of days, here you go. A more organized and retail ready space in our bottle room. More to come...

We are back open as normal today. Come see for yourself. 🤓

Cheers!

Many people have asked about our start as Steve's Wine Bar. In our first "history of Steve's" email, we talked a little about how it started with Steve being laid off from his job and how that presented itself as a new path and opportunity.

Taking over another wine bar and having to craft our own name and business plan was something we had to do. Our friend Sara Wolfe, who was a business partner in another business with Steve and Karen, was also stepping into a bookkeeping business. With her and her boss, they were able to set up the business, Steve's Wine Bar, LLC to purchase Vigne. Not to name the bar that, but simply to be official in the purchase of the wine bar.

As we began the process, we started thinking about names for the wine bar. We talked to several friends and even started down the path of hiring a professional marketing group to help design the logo and the DBA for the bar.

Paperwork was filed with the state, TABC, the city and the county. To complete the process, we had to post a notice in the local newspaper to let everyone know there was a new bar opening in town. The challenge, based on our time frame, we needed a DBA right away before we could go through the official process with the newspaper and TABC.

Our friends, Judy and Marshall, jumped in and started giving us their ideas, and Judy did her due diligence in looking at other wine bars out there in the market to make sure we weren't coming up with a name that was already taken. A few days later, we met up and after several names and ideas were tossed about, the consensus was to keep it Steve's Wine Bar. We have several other businesses in Denton with a single name, and it made sense to keep it simple. Who can screw up Steve's Wine Bar? Or so we thought....

Our first piece of mail that we received at the wine bar was an advertisement. It was made out to Barry Oosterwaal, who stepped in to help with our website design, our logo, and many other things. But what was really funny, was that the piece came to Barry at Steve Swinebar. We laughed about that and started thinking about how we can use this to our advantage. We went even as far as to talk with our friends at city hall to see if we can bring in a micro-pig and make it our mascot to hang around the bar. Alas, that was a no-go, but when you visit Steve's, you now know why, if you didn't already, we have so many pigs hanging around the bar.

With the Swinebar theme in mind, prepare to come and visit Steve's in the month of July. We are going to be doing a Swine-Hunt, where people can go around the bar and find as many pigs as they can, then fill out a form with their results. At the end of July, we will go through all the entries, and those with the right number of pigs, will go into a drawing for a Magnum Bottle of wine, which we will draw for on our official anniversary day of August 5th.

So, plan ahead to come to Steve's in July and see how many pigs you can spot around the bar. More details to come soon.

You may have seen our notice about being closed today due to construction happening at the bar. As a small business, it's hard to have days where we do not have any revenue. So, as a special offer, if you shop today online for bottles of wine, ci**rs, or merchandise, when you check out, use JUNE9THDiscount to receive 15% off your order. You can pick up your order tomorrow or later in the week. We truly appreciate your support, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

First things first, as you likely have seen, we had planned to be closed today and reopen tomorrow for business. BUT, after discussion with the crew, they are telling me we need at least 24 hours or more before we can start setting the bar back up to our normal state. That will require us to be closed on Tuesday as well as today. We plan to be back at it on Wednesday at our usual time.

With that said, we’re excited to invite to join us via Zoom tonight, so you can learn more about Steve’s Wine Bar’s next unforgettable adventure: a 2027 luxury river cruise to Bordeaux, France with Scenic Cruise Lines.

After an amazing European river cruise in 2025, we’re looking ahead to our next journey—an 8-day, 7-night all-inclusive cruise through one of the world’s most celebrated wine regions.

This special trip will take us along the Gironde, Dordogne, and Garonne rivers, where we’ll experience:
• Historic villages and landmarks
• Exceptional food and wine
• Beautiful French architecture
• Bordeaux’s rich winemaking heritage
• Scenic cruising through a UNESCO-listed region

To share details about the trip, we’re hosting an information session next week via Zoom. When you make your reservation, you will receive a follow up email with the link to the online session.

Happy Wednesday!

June is here and we are excited about several events happening this month.

Wine Club Members, you are able to still come and do your May Wine Club tasting through this Friday, June 5th. We will begin the June tastings on Friday starting at 5 PM.

Thursdays have become a hit as we have Half-Price Bottle days at Steve's. Each month Cheryl picks 10 wines from our selection to feature on Thursdays at Half-Price. For those of you attending Twilight Tunes on the Square, this is a great opportunity to pick up a nice bottle of wine at a very nice price and enjoy it at the performance.

Friday, we have a special musical experience with Dave Meder. If you have not attended any of the nights Dave has been a featured artist, you are missing out.

Saturday evening, we have "Off the Rails" Bluegrass band. Typically, they perform during our afternoon sessions on Saturday, but this time, they are the featured artists on Saturday night.

See below in the email to see what's happening at Steve's over the next several days.

Don't hesitate on grabbing your reservations for any of these events, as many will be sure to sell out, if they have not already.
