This is an extract from a short video series where Capt James Nelson of Dood Craft Guitars uses modern machinery and hand tools, sharing with us what to expect during the process. The Gwen model is a Fan Favorite. Seeing how it is made is quite inspiring.

This is a short taken from a more detailed video where Capt James Nelson applies a custom paint finish on a Short-Scale Bass Guitar Body. This quick video series will show you what to expect when making a guitar using a CNC. The Gwen model is a Fan Favorite. Lime Gold has been the most requested color for The Gwen model. Learn a bit of his techniques while being entertained a bit, and maybe gaining inspiration for your own projects. Full video series on the YT channel.

This beautiful 285ST got sent home to New York. While at first, it looks like any other ST, it is actually a 28-5/8" scale baritone... tuned B-B. It also features Highwood bridge saddles, 7 way wiring, coil splitting, and a killswitch.

For those of you wondering if I still do guitar stuff... This beautiful little Mandy is in her way home to Wi******er, CA.

In case anybody was wondering why you are seeing so many boating and client fish pics from me lately, and less guitar shots... well, look at my calendar.
I am slowly catching up on guitar orders. However, the fish are biting, folks are fishing, and many are booking their trips with me. Praise The Lord.
Guitar pics will resume shortly. I have a really cool custom Gwen Bass to show, as well as an Ibanez that a touring musician wanted me to make a new neck for.
Currently, there are 9 guitar jobs in my queue, 6 of which are full guitar builds. As much as I would love to get out and play (water or stage) I doubt I will for some time. It's all work for me for awhile.
The Skeeter will be listed for sale soon. I am slowly getting it cleaned up.. in between all the other stuff I am doing.

As many of you may know by now, I got a new skiff. This one is quite a bit larger than the last one. It sits higher than most bass/bay boats, but isn't quite like an offshore center console. It fits the hybrid class. Great for local kelp and reefs, bay, and even lake (if you can find one with a usable ramp). And, it has already proven itself a fish catching machine.
To those who thought I was retiring from guiding charters (including myself), it looks more like I am doubling down instead. See attached calendar link. There are still some days left available this summer. If you want a ride on the Guitarfish, let me know.
And yes, I am still making Guitars, Baritones, and Basses.
