Back in 2016, we opened the doors of our brewery intending to provide thoughtfully crafted beers for our friends, family, and members of our local community. In the years since, we did just that, brewing innumerable beers and making hundreds of friends along the way. But today, we’re sorry to say that Resident Brewing Company’s time is coming to an end.
There are many reasons why we decided that now is the time to close our doors. Some of those are particular to Resident, and some apply to the industry as a whole. Chances are, your favorite brewery is struggling right now, so make sure to support them when you can.
But rather than being somber about our current circumstance, we’re choosing to be thankful for all of the amazing experiences we’ve been lucky enough to enjoy in this community for almost a decade.
We will never forget toasting coconut for the first batch of Vacation, meeting new friends at beer festivals, and delivering a bit of boozy normalcy to your homes during the most abnormal time of our lives. We truly cherish these memories, and wholeheartedly thank you for the chance to experience them.
So, what now?
Our Village House tasting room in Chula Vista will remain open throughout the weekend. As a thank you to the customers who supported us over the last eight years, all pours will be just $5 until we close the taps for the last time. Our remaining bottles and merch are also available for purchase at 50% off. And if you want to tip the bartender a little extra, we know they will greatly appreciate it.
One more thing: The worst part about closing the brewery is knowing that our hardworking and talented staff will need to find work. So if you or anyone you know in the industry is hiring, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We have some truly talented people working here, and we want to do everything in our power to help them find a new place of work as quickly as possible.
We once again thank you for the opportunity to live out this dream.
Cheers forever,
The Resident Team
