Bears made an announcement today. Indiana sort of but not really yet. Well we have our own real announcement.

Will they go? Won’t they go? If they do go, where will it be? Dealing with relocation sucks. Luckily we got a beer for that.

Just in time for the Chicagoish Bears pre-season opener at Soldier Field this Saturday, Beer for Dealing with Relocation is our new Northern Indiana-style wheat beer. This one pours hazier than a 1988 playoff game and is as bitter as the rivalry with our northern neighbors. An uncomfortable (by our standards) amount of Falconer's Flight and Amarillo hops added directly to the fermenter, throws go routes of nectarine jam, brite citrus, green melon, mango, and pineapple. The creamy wheat body holds the huddle of flavors together to offer you a brief distraction from corporate handouts and profound betrayal.

Now available on tap and in 4pks to-go at Mousetrap. Much like the Bears, soon to be available outside of Chicago.

Peach Beer for Golf releases today at Mousetrap at noon in 16oz 4pks to-go. Just a heads up that we haven’t tapped it yet, but draft will be coming in the next week or so.

pH1 Release Party Friday!! Details below.

What: pH1 Release Event
When: Friday, July 24th at 5pm
Where: Mousetrap
Details: Line will begin on the brewery side at 4:45pm. Regardless of whether you are there for pH1 draft, pH1 bottles to-go, or both, you’ll need to stand in that line. While supplies last, each person in line will be offered the opportunity to purchase 2 (two) 375ml bottles to-go as well as a ticket for a 6oz draft pour of pH1. You’ll receive your pH1 pour when you turn in the ticket at the bar.
Price: 375ml bottles to-go will be $18. Draft pours will be $10 for 6 ounces.
Heads up: We expect draft to run out quickly, but 375ml bottles will also be available cold for on-site consumption for $20 each all night.
Tasting Notes: Summer fields of honeysuckle, chamomile tea, and white peach create a tableau vivant for an ephemeral trumpet of nectarine-like acidity. Vivid pageantry of lychee, sugar cane, and tangerine flies hither and yon like songbirds in the brush. None try to conquer; all fit in their place beholden to a structure beyond us. A beautiful moment in time. Memento mori.

After aging a wild ale for more than a year in the famed barrel credited with popularizing wild and sour ales, Off Color co-founder John Laffler is throwing a release party July 24.

Mousetrap Bottle release!!

You might have noticed that all these bottles have a similar vibe and that’s because they do. For a little while now we’ve been hand stamping all of our small batch, Mousetrap exclusive beers, but our fingers started to hurt and since we don’t have a psychotic orderly forcing us to hand stamp our bottles, we were like, wait, we don’t have to do this.

That said, we like the idea of having a little bit more understated and simple label template for some of our most ambitious and complex beers. So we did that. Kind of a fun duality don’t you think?

So what about the beers?

Mezcal Barrel Aged Mice en Place - brewers in collaboration with O.H.S.O. Brewery out of Arizona, we reimagined Bière de Miel, a relatively esoteric Belgian style of honey saison. Typically made with at least 25% honey, we opted to augment the honey with cactus derived sugars from a potent blend of both Prickly Pear and Saguaro cactus fruit, Agave nectar, all punctuated with hand picked Arizona desert lemons. Bière de Cactus? Sure, why not? A smokey, vegetal array of spirit, agave, and oak from a two year rest in Mezcal barrels acts as Grand Marshal to this colorful parade of Captain Beefheart-esque weirdness.

Peach Miscellanea - We already did a Miscellanea Vol.4 refermentation (Apricot Miscellanea Vol. 4.5), so for this peach version of our super collaboration beer, we’ll just call it Miscellanea Vol. 4.67294032224

Yes. We’re open. Before you ask. Nope. Still don’t have televisions at the taproom. Even for the biggest game in the history of American soccer. A brewery’s gotta have a code.

That said, we got you all set up for a watch party at home. Come grab some to-go beers (including the soccer themed amber lager Beer for Kicks) for the game tonight and swing through tomorrow to relive the memories.

We’re doing a Beer for Kicks inspired Keep the Glass Night tonight at 5pm.

When it comes to glassware, we’re like proud parents and love everyone equally and would never choose a favorite. That said, this glass literally kicks ass. If you’ve been to one of our keep the glass events before, you know the deal. Come through and grab a 400ml soccer ball inspired Tubinger full of our new international amber lager, Beer for Kicks, and keep the glass. $4 refills on select beers all night. Any extra glassware will be available at the taproom and online Friday.
