It’s Sunday. Should probably remind people that B**r for Huddles, our Amber Ale, is back on draft and in 4pks to-go at Mousetrap and around the city.

Tree resin amber in color and aromas of warm biscuits, this traditional amber has pan browned pie crust overtones as well as hints of rose incense and early autumn dried leaves. If you get your third down you may just want to go for it on the fourth.

Really excited about the next book in the Off Color Book Club. I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman is right in our book club wheelhouse, a post-apocalyptic dystopian novel that explores themes of identity, femininity, solitude, and community through the eyes of a young girl imprisoned with a group of 39 women who have no memory of how they got there. This is a harrowing journey of survival and friendship that asks what freedom and humanity truly mean in the absence of society.

This month’s thematically appropriate pairing b**r is B**r for Dealing with Relocation, a Belgian Wit which is also a nod to the author’s heritage.

Haven’t been to one of our book club gatherings before? Just read the book and swing through at 7pm on the correct Tuesday (in this case October 20th). Side note: if you don’t finish the book, you can also feel free to swing through. We’ll have some tables set up outside the discussion area for the laggards to do some free reading while enjoying a b**r.

NEW B**R FOR THE NITRO LINE: B**r for Tote Bags

Back in the late spring, we brewed a really nice British Mild with our friends at WBEZ. People enjoyed it so much, we brought it back and this time around it will be pouring at Mousetrap on the nitro line and served in 20oz imperial pints. Please note that 16oz 4pks to-go will not be nitro.

Missed the b**r the first time around? Here’s a little bit more info. This collaborative project brewed with WBEZ 91.5FM celebrates our mutual love of Chicago, all things Public Radio, and what’s possible when we come together with common purpose and intent. Named for the classic NPR membership drive gift, B**r for Tote Bags puts the Pub in Public Radio with this English style Pub ale. Light auburn in color with dense, silky foam, the aromas lend a soleil levant impression of fresh apricot, meadowfoam honey, and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee. Moderate in strength and easily approachable, we hope to entice you to raise a glass, support Public Radio, and become a member today!

Offtoberfest is Sunday September 27th, we repeat Sunday September 27th, from 11am until 9:30pm at Mousetrap!

We’ll have two brand new stein designs for our Keep the Stein event this year including our first ceramic stein with wrap-around art!

Tomorrow, on Tuesday August 25th, we’re hosting our B**r for Superdawg Keep the Glass Night at Mousetrap! Event starts at 5pm and goes until close.

Because it’s a Superdawg collab we wanted to make it super special, so, for the first time ever, we’re offering the Keep the Glass deal in two different sizes. Attendees will be able to choose from either a traditional 16oz pint glass or a bigger 19.2oz Superpint. First 200 customers also get a Superdawg sample.

If you haven’t been to a KTG event before, it works like this: you come and order a B**r for Superdawg Chicago Style Pilsner and you keep the glass ($11 for pint/$13 for Superpint) and we do $5 refills of a few different b**rs all night. Sound super?

Added bonus, we’ll be releasing the new Superdawg collab t-shirts that night as well as a new Superdawg b**r collaboration, Dressed.

Shirts and glassware will be available online and at the taproom the next day. All items should also be available at Superdawg Wheeling on Wednesday August 26th.
