Mariposa is located in The Mint Museum Uptown in the heart of Uptown Charlotte and explores international cuisines in a comfortable, artistic setting. Mariposa embraces community, and how sharing a meal, a drink, and a good conversation brings people together across countless cultures. Join us on Sundays for jazz brunch featuring local live jazz from 12:00 - 3:00 pm and $1.00 bloody marys.

Artful Evenings at Mariposa bring the story behind The Mint Museum’s Caravaggio exhibition straight to your table.

Caravaggio | Revolution explores the work of an artist who changed everything with his dramatic use of light and shadow, bold realism, and paintings inspired by everyday life. The exhibition features his original masterpiece, Boy Bitten by a Lizard, alongside more than 40 works by Baroque artists influenced by his style.

We created three cocktails inspired by different parts of his story:

The Painter’s Flame brings together grapefruit, Aperol, sparkling w**e, and orange for a bright, bubbly nod to the colors and energy of Rome.

The Revolutionary combines gin, sweet vermouth, Vinho Verde, lemon, honey, and fresh basil, inspired by Caravaggio’s unconventional style and groundbreaking approach to art.

The Chiaroscuro plays on his signature contrast of light and dark with bourbon, Luxardo, amaro, lemon, activated charcoal, and a velvety egg-white finish.

Join us every Thursday from 5–8 p.m. for live jazz, three shared plates for $48, and cocktails inspired by the art around us.
