Teddy’s Bar & Grill is the oldest continually-operated bar in all of Brooklyn. Located at the corner of Berry and North 8th Streets in Williamsburg, there has been a bar
operating in this space since 1887! Originally a local family-owned Irish tavern, it
later became a tasting room for the Peter Doelger Brewery in the early 1910’s. The curved copper and wood exterior facade still has the origina

l stained glass window with the name Peter Doelger Extra Beer. The physical bar, most of the tile flooring and much of the woodwork is original from the 1887 period. It changed hands a few more times, finally landing with namesake Teddy, and his wife Mary Prusik, who purchased the location and renamed it Teddy’s Bar in the 1950’s. They operated it until 1987 when it was sold to new owners, who then added a kitchen and a dining room in the old carriage house. In April 2015, Teddy’s was sold to the current owners who have begun restoring and redecorating while being careful to honor it’s heritage.

Cheers to a NEW Year!

While 2020 has been the longest year on record in our books.... we're hoping that 2021 will bring good things with it for everyone! The saying "out with the old and in with the new" has never rang more true!

We also look forward to catching up with old friends and making new ones in the new year!

Quick Updates:

#1 - Outdoor Dining, Takeout and Delivery Available NOW!
2020 is definitely the year of doing what you can! Find comfort in our outdoor structure and you'll see heaters at every table. Or if that's not your jam, call or go to our website for takeout / delivery!

#2 - Beer and Provisions is OPEN!
For those who don't know, we OPENED A CRAFT BEER STORE! You'll find our new adventure in what was formerly our event space / back dining room. For those nights it's too cold to sit outside, come pick up some craft beer and choose from our 150+ selection!

#3 - Teddy's Merch is Available!
We have Teddy's pint glasses, belgian glasses, doozies, bottle openers AND tote bags available now in Beer and Provisions located behind Teddy's on North 8th!
