A great big THANK YOU to everyone who came out on Saturday for our one-year anniversary! We had such a fun and festive day with you celebrating our birthday! 🩷

And a great big THANK YOU to everyone who jumped in over the last two years to help Dragonfly Book Bar open our doors and become a place for community and connection! We are so grateful to the folks who donated books and store fittings, gave freely of their time, lifted us up when we weren't sure we were going to be able to do this, and supported us with their generosity, and for our customers, event partners, local authors, and so many more - we've tried to remember as many of you as possible with this post, but if we accidentally left you out, please know that you had such a positive impact on our dream and that we appreciate you more than we can say! 💜

And a final great big THANK YOU to the dragonfly that flew into the store on Saturday and let us help it back out to a fern - you made our day and it felt like a good sign for another year! 🐉✈️

Y'all!!!! We have some BIG news!!!

We're going to host the local release event for Barbara Kingsolver's upcoming novel, "Partita" at Theatre Bristol's Cameo Theatre on Saturday, November 7! Barbara will discuss and read from the book, and take questions from the audience for a lively conversation with her hometown and regional crowd.

Two ticket tiers are available: $45 includes a hardcover copy of the book and entry to the event; $25 includes entry to the event. Partial proceeds will benefit Higher Ground Women’s Recovery Residence in Lee County, Virginia, which was established by Barbara with royalties from "Demon Copperhead."

Please note that copies of Partita will not be signed, and this event does not include an author signing of any other books or memorabilia or a photo line.

A quick reminder that Dragonfly Book Bar will be closing early today at 5:00pm for a private event. There's still plenty of time to visit us all day until then though so stop by and hang out! 💜

With the year of getting ready to open and then our first year, it has been a whirlwind, and the joy of this past year is down to all of our regulars, customers, supporters, authors, friends, family, community partners, and so many more! We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! 🩷
