WHAT
The Bradenton Beach Merchants Association is continuing its AMI South End Sundown Get Down series with the Endless Summer Afterglow Party on Saturday, September 12, bringing another afternoon and evening of community fun to Historic Bridge Street.
AMI South End is an initiative of the Bradenton Beach Merchants Association created to celebrate the businesses, people, and unique character of Anna Maria Island’s south end through community events throughout the year. Built around the idea of “Less Traffic. More Magic.”, AMI South End events transform Historic Bridge Street into a walkable gathering place where residents and visitors can shop, dine, explore, and connect with local businesses.
The Endless Summer Afterglow Party is the next event in the series and will celebrate the final days of summer with a tropical street festival that transitions from a colorful daytime beach party into an Afterglow celebration as the sun goes down. Guests are encouraged to wear bright, neon, and tropical attire while enjoying live entertainment, family activities, food and drinks, shopping, local vendors, and glowing experiences throughout Bridge Street.
Entertainment throughout the day will include a mermaid from 2 PM to 5 PM, a caricature artist from 3 PM to 7 PM, and a fire performer from 5 PM to 8 PM, along with a Beach Party Fun House and live music at restaurants and bars throughout Bridge Street.
Maverick Johnson, morning show host for 92.1 and 103.1 WCTQ, will also host a giveaway for tickets to the Zac Brown Band concert in Tampa later in September.
Participating Bridge Street businesses will bring their own personality to the celebration with food, drinks, shopping, activities, and entertainment. Guests can expect:
AMI Vibes will offer permanent jewelry, giving guests a chance to take home a keepsake from the celebration.
Anna Maria Oyster Bar on the Pier will bring Five Star Fun to the street with a beverage tent featuring Shuckin’ Good Beer and an AMOB specialty cocktail. A retail tent will offer shirts, hats, koozies, and other AMOB merchandise, while kids can enjoy glow sticks and bubbles. Penny the Dolphin will also be roaming the festivities for photos and family fun.
Back Alley will feature a local artist and author with an interactive experience for kids and parents. Inside, guests can enjoy neon-inspired décor, happy hour pricing, and specialty drinks.
Beach Blossom will welcome Sneaky Seeds with a tent outside the shop.
Blue Marlin will serve food throughout the day. Live music from Sycamore Shade will take over from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Bridge Tender Inn will add to the street festival atmosphere with multiple beverage tents and a stage featuring live music.
Bridgewalk Resort will host Coastal Life with retail and clothing, along with a free spin art experience where guests can create something of their own to take home.
Cove will embrace the Afterglow theme with a live painter, original artwork and creations, and a colorful collection of suncatchers, prisms, and other pieces that will sparkle as afternoon turns into evening.
Daiquiri Deck will bring the party outside with its daiquiri machines, $4 pulled pork sliders with coleslaw, free hushpuppy samples, glow-in-the-dark souvenirs, games, and live music.
Drift In AMI will offer a chill station and live music.
Everything’s Just Beachy will bring back its Pick a Duck game for a fun family activity.
Island Time will serve orange crushes and food from its outdoor tent.
Laughing Flamingo Café will have two tents offering treats and goodies for guests to enjoy.
