Greetings Moose members and Friends.
It has been a little while since there has been an email sent to you. I apologize to all of you. It has been a different season this year. It has been great to see all our friends after putting our lodge back “on the map” again. A few things have happened in the last couple of months.
The lodge has a new board of officers. And they are working very hard to keep our lodge a great place to visit and be a part of. Something many of you may not know is that your lodge is the largest (in membership) in the whole Moose Fraternity. The Moose Fraternity includes United States, Canada, and Great Brittain. At one point your numbers reached 21,000 members. The numbers do vary based on when you pay your dues. We have reached this number because of you. You have taken the time to come and visit your lodge and have a great meal or hang out on the beach and have a refreshment or meal with friends or family. Thank you. The officers and I would like to let you know that we appreciate you. We could not have reached this goal if you hadn’t taken the time to brag about your lodge and all the fun and memories that you are having here. And of course, asking your friends and family to join us. Membership for your Moose is a great birthday present that could last a lifetime!!
Our menu has been evolving (changing) trying different recipes for both adults and children. We are planning a few “couples” dinners, our annual Pig Roast, adult and children’s Halloween Parties and many more. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please do not hesitate to suggest them.
We have a great WOTM Chapter and the ladies are working very hard with lodge to be an unstoppable team. They have a raffle going on right now, a basket full of Lottery tickets. Please come in and look at it and purchase tickets. They are also making and then selling various desserts during our delicious Friday night dinners. The Friday night dinner choices are Prime Rib, Snapper, Baby Back Ribs, Chicken, Garlic mashed or Baked potatoes and a vegetable.
Your lodge is hosting the district #13 meeting on Sept 20th. It will start with a Moose Legion enrollment at 9 AM. My Brothers, if you have any interest in becoming a Moose Legionnaire, the 2nd Degree of the Moose Fraternity please contact myself or Moose Legion Chairman Carl Spradlin. He or any Moose Legionnaire will be glad to explain what it means to be a Proud Moose Legionnaire. I am sure there will be another election soon to fill a vacancy. You will be notified when this event is going to happen.
For those of you that may not have heard, your lodge has lost a teammate and a very good Friend. Henry Troupe passed on Saturday August 15th.There will be Celebration of life for Henry on Saturday, September 19th starting at 10AM. until 12:00 PM. The lodge will not be open for regular business until 12PM.
Please be advised that the Queen of Hearts drawing is being postponed until September 16th. This is the 3rd Wednesday of September at the usual time. For those of you that have purchased your tickets hang on to them, they are still in the drawing!! There are no refunds
