Since we began back in 2022, we have accumulated a heart warming amount of connections within our neighborhood. Through excellent experiences and the occasional, inevitable mishap, we have found support through every avenue possible. We truly wouldn’t be who we are without the many different hearts that have contributed to our story. We’d love to give a shout out to some of those people!
Firstly, we have to thank both our past and present innkeepers and housekeepers!!
Our interior designer, Kim Lewis Designs and our IT/Marketing coordinator, Jake Mooney of Modern Hospitality Solutions. Our original website and branding creators, Kate Auoielle and Abba Griscom. And of course, our fix-it friends (usually our life savers), Cassie Bills and Justin Bates.

Did you know that The MICHELIN Guide — widely known for their recommendations for The World’s most high-end restaurants — also offers distinctions for hotels? While they’ve been curating a list of spectacular stays in the Eastern Hemisphere for over 100 years, MICHELIN Guide had only begun recommending hotels in the United States since 2020!

As one of MICHELIN’s newest key-holders, we are beyond proud to be added to this prestigious club.

A MICHELIN Key is awarded to hotels that excel in design, architecture, service and personality! Inspectors book privately and anonymously, pay their own way, and experience our hotel like any other guest. So we never even know! There’s no way to prepare or fluff it up.
The grade is entirely based off of the most authentic version of each hotel’s brand and mission. Which makes it that much more remarkable to be awarded!

To have been recognized for all of the care and effort that we put into the hotel truly feels like a full circle moment.
But we’re not stopping here!
The Frances Modern Inn only ever strives to keep raising the bar.
But don’t worry — no need for tip-toeing, dress-codes, nor wiping your feet at the door. We’re still the down-to-earth quirky East Austin inn that you’ve always loved, just with a shiny new award! 🗝️✨

We are honored and elated to announce that The Frances Modern Inn has been awarded our very own MICHELIN Key!! 🔑

If Grandma Frances taught us anything, it’s to be accepting of any and all guests that grace our presence. We pride ourselves on our ability to slow down and take the time to be extra hospitable with everyone who finds a temporary home within our sacred walls. From the busy bustling streets of East Austin, to the quiet, soft getaways of our hidden oasis — we only ever hope that you’ll be happy, comfortable and throughly taken care of.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us make it this far!! We could never truly describe just how much all your support means to The Frances Team.🌿🚪🖼️🧳

Meet our beautiful Frances team!!
The ones who make everything possible at your favorite
East Austin boutique inn.
Everyone always says “our team is like a family!” Well we mean that wholeheartedly. Our owner, Vicki, has spent years putting together the perfect group of women to build this space with. She has always encouraged every last one of us to grow as people. From working through the hard conversations, learning how to forgive each other and ourselves, all the way down to making sure everyone feels supported and comfortable. We have done nothing, if not grow together as a united team. Not only are every one of these ladies already extremely hard working, but we are even better people because of this job.
That’s the same level of open arms and understanding that we try to pay forward to our community.
Whoever you are, we are happy to have you here with us.
And if you see any of the team members around the hotel, please feel free to have a chat or a quick hello, so we can all slow down and be present together. ❤️
See you soon!
