Calling 🚨‼️the Macs old House community! During the first week of demo after the sale of the beloved restaurant, all old sports memorabilia that hung on the walls was stolen! So incredibly sad and unfortunate 😢. Fortunately, all the Mac’s related items were left but with the remodel and extension getting close to be done the walls are looking bare. We are asking all the wonderful customers and residents of Antioch if you have any old pictures of the area, old photos of the building, local sports players, etc to help us decorate the walls with some history. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to message me or even bring things by. TIA

Hi everyone! I am the new operator of Macs Old House when it reopens and we can’t wait to serve the community! I also took over ownership of The Original Mel’s in Antioch last February. We are hosting a fundraiser this Saturday for the Freedom High school senior class of 2026! We are having a car show from 10-2, FHS band performance at 2 and sweet treats vendor for kids of all ages. Please bring out your car or just come in and enjoy a meal. 20% of sales will be donated to the school. We will also have a 50/50 raffle! We’d love to meet people excited for the reopening and support the kids in the process! Can’t wait to see everyone

We’re sad to share that we’ve lost another important member of the Mac’s family. Jason Rodgers worked at Mac’s Old House while he was in high school in the late ’80s and early ’90s. He later went on to have a career as a police officer in Martinez.

Jason would always tell us that Mac’s Old House was the best job he could have had while he was growing up. ❤️ After being a great employee, he went on to become an even better customer.

He will be deeply missed by the entire Mac’s family.

And ps Jason, we’ve forgiven you for the couple cases of Corona you (probably) stole back in the day 😉 Rest easy, friend.

Last week, we joined the rest of Antioch in celebrating the life of a true legend and good friend, Dr. Lance Miller.

Lance was a longtime friend and loyal customer of Mac’s Old House. Everyone at Mac’s was lucky to know him and his family and to have them join us for dinner often. He will be deeply missed by all of us, by the Antioch community, and most especially by his family.

Lance was known by many names — Doc Hollywood, Doc — but to us at Mac’s Old House, he was simply Lance Miller.

You and your family will always be in our thoughts. Rest in peace. 🤍

As most of you’ve heard…we have some exciting news. The legacy of Mac’s Old House will live on!

Mac’s has officially been purchased by Joe Martinez and Ron Harrison. We’re thrilled to share that their goal is to preserve Mac’s as much as possible, with some much-needed updates along the way. They’re aiming for a June 2026 reopening—exactly one year after closing!

As many of you know, the building needs major improvements, including bringing everything up to 2025 code. This is no small task, and we’re incredibly grateful that the new owners are committed to taking it on while honoring the history of the building.

When Mac converted his home into a bar on St. Patrick’s Day in 1956, and later a restaurant, none of us could have imagined how special this place would become. Gary Noe didn’t purchase the restaurant until 1983, and only then did the menu change into what everyone knows and loves today. Mac’s has needed a tune-up for quite some time and we’re all very excited to see the renovations and improvements (including expansion and more takeout options!!!)

Former head chef and manager Rick Cook will be lending his support and passing along all of Mac’s classic recipes.

We always did our best to keep prices as low as possible, and we know the new team is striving for that as well.

We all want the legacy of Mac’s to live on and be as successful as it can be. We’re looking forward to the future and cannot wait to see what 2026 has in store!!

❤️ Mac’s Old House

A week after we closed in June, we invited past and present staff to join us at Mac’s to celebrate the past 42 years. It was wonderful catching up with all the folks who helped make Mac’s what it was!! Thank you to everyone who came out—and to those who couldn’t make it or are no longer with us, you were deeply missed. Can’t believe it’s almost been four months!
