Most of the songs we learned in school were taught to us in “music class”. Which is slipping away in our schools. Future musicians need our support and you can help.

The Delta Blues Festival was created by David Williamson. The intention was to offer an alcohol-free festival with live music for families to have their children in attendance. Something different.
David rallied together 3 local blues bands together and put on the very first Delta Blues Festival on October 23, 1999. For 19 years, every mid-September, we produced an outdoor festival for the community. The Delta Blues Festival offered food, crafts, and amazing live blues music to the community.
When we first started the Benefit Concert, it helped support and put on the fall festival. All the while, offering a musical scholarship for students. The scholarship is still in place and moving forward it will now also directly benefit musical education through local organizations.
The festival has now transitioned into the indoor show only and we have increased our community support by using money raised at the benefit concert to help kids with music in the community.
The Delta Blues Festival (DBF) has always been about community and music. What better way to show our support than to give the money raised at the Benefit Concert, back to those in the community that teach our kids and help them find their way musically.
Each year, proceeds raised from the DBF Benefit Concert will be offered to the community through a Grant. The grant will be awarded to an organization or program that assists and strengthens music programs in our community that directly enrich kid's involvement with music.
Each year, we will be giving $10,000 (or more) in grants to inspire and help kids get more music in their lives. Each ticket you buy, and each donation you make, help make this possible.
To date, we have awarded over $27,000 in grants and scholarships.
Along with our scholarship presentation, the grant funds will be presented to the chosen applicant during our Benefit Concert. If you have any questions, please contact us.
