We are kicking off this beautiful weekend by wishing Brewer Alan a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! 🐻🎉

Alan came to us from Houston, Texas back in 2017. That’s where he got into craft beer while working for Saint Arnold Brewing Company. His experience as a bartender, grill chef, doorman, arcade/pinball delivery driver, and amateur wrestler helped him climb the Boxing Bear ladder over the years. Starting in the Corrales kitchen he moved up to Distribution, then Salesman, and now Brewer. Alan’s seasonal brew and first solo brew “Alan The Cowboy” was an instant hit in the taprooms and he considers it his favorite beer. The Oso Otoño Oatmeal Brown Ale is a close second.

Hear from Brewer Alan about his newest seasonal beer, Alan the Cowboy 🤠

The constellation Ursa Major is also known as the Plow, the Great Bear, or Alan the Cowboy. Whatever you call that big dipper-looking thing, it’s best enjoyed in the dark. Dark like our Black Kölsch. This oxymoron of a beer style is a slightly tweaked recipe of our New Mexi-Kölsch. Brewed with the same base malts and same German hops, we added some Munich and black malt to make a light-bodied, dark-colored, refreshing beer.

Available on draft and in four packs at both Albuquerque Taprooms.
