👩‍🍳 MEET THE STAFF: JORENE “JOEY”!

This week, we’re introducing you to Joey, one of the faces behind the scenes making things happen in our kitchen! 🐍🧡

When Joey isn’t at Copperhead’s, you’ll most likely find her spending time with her 5-year-old daughter, who just started kindergarten this year!

Now for some Joey facts…

Joey didn’t originally want to be a cook. Her dream was to be a psychologist because she says she “loves learning about how the human brain works.” Although psychology was the original plan, Joey has been cooking her whole life and has found joy in putting a delicious meal out for others to enjoy!

I asked Joey what food she’d love to add to our menu, and without hesitation she said A GYRO because she loves gyros herself. Sooo… don’t be surprised if Joey gets her way and you eventually see a gyro on the menu. 👀

Her least favorite menu item? The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich — and not because she doesn’t like it. According to Joey, “the breading always likes to fall off for me.” 😂 Apparently the breading has a personal vendetta against Joey.

And finally, Joey’s favorite TV series is Orange Is the New Black.
Which honestly explains the psychologist dream a bit more but also somehow makes us wonder a little more….😂

So there you have it — Joey: gyro enthusiast, Nashville chicken breading victim, and OITNB superfan.

Next time you see her, say hey! Just don’t ask her to make the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. 😂

MEET THE STAFF: ABBY!

This week’s Meet the Staff is a little bittersweet because we’re introducing you to Abby just as we’re getting ready to say goodbye.

Abby has been part of the Copperheads crew since September, and unfortunately, the distance between work and home has become a little too much. We’re definitely going to miss having her around, but there was NO way we were letting her leave without getting her own Meet the Staff post first!

Abby says she actually loves cooking… just maybe not in an industrial kitchen setting. Her favorite thing to make at home is lasagna, which honestly sounds like something we’d all volunteer to taste-test!

When she’s not working, Abby loves reading fantasy books… particularly the “spicy” kind. 👀📚😂 We’ll just leave that one right there.

When Abby was younger, she dreamed of becoming a teacher. While college costs changed that plan, we’ve definitely gotten to see that teacher side of her here at Copperheads. Abby has always been willing to help, explain things, and lend a hand to the people around her — and that’s something we’ve really appreciated about having her on our team.

As for what’s next, Abby plans to continue working at CVS and saving toward one of her biggest goals — buying a house!

Abby, thank you for everything you’ve done for us over the past year. We’re sad to see you go, but we’re excited to see what comes next for you. You’ll always be part of the Copperheads family! ❤️

Everyone help us wish Abby lots of luck on her next chapter — and maybe drop some spicy fantasy book recommendations for her while you’re at it. 😂📚
