Pamoja Tunakua! Together We Grow 🌱

Days like this remind us that community is at the heart of everything we do. This past week, we organized the Shared Value event at Sakare Specialty Tea Company and brought together the people who make every cup possible.

Our tea farmers from the area were there, along with our herb and spice farmers from Bumbuli and Lutindi. So were the amazing ladies who pluck the tea at Sakare farm and the Sakare Specialty Tea Company workers. The district chairman and officers from the district office joined us, and so did our partner CARE Tanzania. Our own Kazi Yetu team came too, including our sales team. They usually work behind a desk, so getting back to the farms and reconnecting with the people behind our teas made their day!

Sakare Specialty Tea Company is where we grow and produce our green and black teas. It’s owned by the farmers’ cooperative, so its success truly belongs to the community. Together we talked about creating more value for farmers, why organic farming matters for their land and families, and how we can reach new markets side by side.

🌱 No harvesting machines. Our tea is picked by hand in the beautiful Usambara Mountains of Tanzania.

🫖 No giant production line. Sakare Specialty Tea Factory produces our orthodox green and black teas, and our team in Dar es Salaam blends and packs them with care.

🍃 No flat bags. Roomy pyramids, so you can see the leaves and they have space to unfold.

💚 No faraway boardroom. Tahira and Hendrik put their heart into Kazi Yetu every day, with a cup of tea close by.

Ever wondered where the ingredients in your tea come from? 🌿

Lots of tea packs just say “peppermint” and leave it at that. With Kazi Yetu, you know the exact origin.

The peppermint in our Ginger Mint Fusion green tea grows in the Usambara Mountains in Tanzania. After harvest, it’s spread out by hand and dried slowly in a solar dryer, turned and checked regularly until the leaves are ready.

From farm to cup: we know where our peppermint grows.
