We love getting out and seeing where our tea grows. This past week, our team visited Sakare Specialty Tea Company in the Usambara Mountains.

They spent time with the women who grow and hand-pluck our tea, and got to see the regenerative farming practices behind our single-origin teas firsthand.

In the Usambara Mountains, we grow herbs like peppermint and lemongrass using regenerative farming practices that work with nature, not against it.

Instead of conventional pesticides, we use organic chili-pepper-based pesticides 🌶️ to naturally help keep pests away while caring for the soil and surrounding ecosystem.

In the Usambara Mountains, our orthodox green & black Teas are carefully rolled by the women at our factory. Rolling breaks and twists the tea leaves, helping release their natural juices and aromas while shaping the leaves for the next stage of processing.

It’s part of what gives Orthodox tea its distinctive character - bringing out that purest flavor in your cup. 🍃🍵
