Coming of Age was built with time in mind.

From the outset, this imperial stout was designed to mature, not to impress on release alone. The focus is structure, balance, and depth rather than sweetness or excess. Chocolate and roasted malt lead the profile, supported by a firm body and a clean, deliberate finish.

There are no shortcuts here. No added sweetness to soften the edges.
No distractions. The goal is a stout that stands on its own, knowing that time will eventually take it further.

Brewer’s Cut is the first expression of the beer — complete, composed, and released as intended. A snapshot of the stout before time reshapes it.

Tasting Notes

Appearance
Opaque black with deep brown edges and a dense tan head.

Aroma
Dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and toasted grain. Clean roast with restrained intensity.

Palate
Full and structured. Layers of chocolate, coffee roast, and dark malt unfold without heaviness. Firm body, balanced bitterness, and integrated alcohol.

Finish
Dry, steady, and controlled. Roast lingers softly, inviting a slower second sip.

The Hāpi Symposium is where hop brains collide - growers, brewers, and scientists swapping data at
harvest and bending flavour in real time. Invited to brew and speak, we went full weird-science: precision-picked hop lots, ruthlessly engineered additions, zero restraint.
This beer is a hard commit to biotransformation - enzymes firing, aromatics mutating. Candied lemon and explosive passionfruit leap from the glass, finishing bright, electric,
and razor-zesty.

Epic 20 Barley Wine — 10.3% This started life as our 15 Barley Wine. We put it into Four Roses Bourbon barrels and let it age for five years (15 + 5 = 20). Before that, those barrels held our “Epicly Fiercely Intolerant” Imperial Milk Stout for 12 months.

You can see how it picked up colour from the stout, plus all that bourbon and oak character.

We lost nearly 50% to the angels, so there wasn’t enough for a bottling run — which means this is tap-only.

This single-barrel selection gave us just five 20L kegs in NZ, one for each location of the 20 Year Tour. Stoked to be able to get an allocation for SG.

This is going to be epic! Super limited. Don’t miss it.
