"Among East Africa's most exciting DJs and a core member of Kampala's Nyege Nyege collective, Kampire's vibrant bass-heavy sets have transported her to bring the best of Ugandan party culture to clubs & festivals across the world. Her Boiler Room set from Nyege Nyege festival 2018 was a legitimate 'internet moment', with thousands of shares leading to serious FOMO from electronic music fans watching online. In October 2021 Kampire joined BBC Radio 1's as one of their esteemed 'Residency' host DJs, giving her an even bigger platform for showcasing the best new music from across the diaspora and followed this with a crucial BBC Essential Mix in 2022. Her monthly NTS Radio Residency has continued to see Kampire shine a light on other DJs & artists from Africa and the diaspora, including Authentically Plastic, Chrisman & DJ IV.

The recent 'A Dancefloor in Ndola' compilation curated for Strut Records, saw Kampire return to her roots and bring together a range of different East and Southern African genres from Congolese rumba and soukous to 1980s township bubblegum and the rich guitar-led sounds of Zambian kalindula. "There are styles of music on the compilation which are often considered unsophisticated from rural areas. I and other contemporary African artists and DJs draw inspiration from them; it is part of what makes us ourselves." Kampire also shines the spotlight on many incredible women in African music from the 80s, including Congolese legends like Pembey Sheiro, Feza Shamamba and Princesse Mansia M'bila to V-Mash and Di Groovy Girls from South Africa.

Alongside the release of the compilation, Kampire and Tash LC had an in-depth discussion about digging in the modern age, vinyl collecting and the politics of record-collecting. Watch the conversation on Youtube.

As a curator, Kampire's week-long 'Club & Care' Residency at Gessnerallee in Zurich celebrated inclusive nightlife; with workshops, a sober day rave and a club night featuring internationally recognized DJs and local collectives."

"Rita Braga (Lisboa, 1985) é cantora, compositora e multi-instrumentista. O seu repertório inclui canções em mais de 10 idiomas. Iniciou-se a solo na música independente em 2005 e mantém uma intensa agenda internacional, tendo apresentado o seu trabalho em clubes, teatros, galerias de arte e festivais em toda a Europa, EUA, Brasil, Austrália e Japão. É autora de bandas sonoras e teve um percurso breve nas áreas da ilustração, BD e cinema de animação, influências que permeiam o seu universo sonoro.

Primeiro disco da artista cantado integralmente em português, Fado Tropical nasce de uma pesquisa em arquivos sonoros, textos e partituras de fado dos séculos XIX e início do século XX. A partir desses materiais, Rita Braga revisita os primórdios do género e conduz-o a novos territórios sonoros, cruzando o fado antigo com influências inesperadas — do "exotica" (referência dos anos 1950/60), ao rock e bandas sonoras.

O álbum inclui versões inspiradas em gravações históricas de Ercília Costa com o guitarrista Armandinho, bem como temas com letras raras de fadistas do século XIX encontradas em livros como História do Fado (1903) e A Triste Canção do Sul (1904). Entre os clássicos revisitados encontram-se "Sou Miúda", associado a Hermínia Silva, "Rua do Capelão", aqui reinventado com uma sonoridade havaiana, e "Chão de Estrelas", célebre canção brasileira de Sílvio Caldas.

O disco inclui os convidados especiais Tó Trips e Paulo Furtado nas guitarras elétricas e JP Simões na voz. O núcleo é composto por Rita Braga na voz e ukulele ou banjolele, João Cabrita no saxofone, Bruna Moura no violoncelo e Ryoko Imai na percussão, além de Suse Ribeiro (também responsável pelas misturas) em percussões adicionais e eletrónica, e participações dos músicos Rui Rodrigues (percussões) e Aníbal Andrade (lap steel). A masterização do vinil é de Yan Hart-Lemonnier.
