We are delighted to host this special event with HAPI - Humanist Alliance Philippines, International - EVERYONE is welcome!
“Pero noong makilala kita, nagbagong bigla ang aking timpla,” - sabi ng bading.
“Tomboy na naka-mio at tomboy na nag-iice scramble? Iba-iba yung settings ah” - sabi ni kuyang may rosary.
Sa gitna ng mga birong ‘reset’ at pabago-bagong kwento ng pagkakakilanlan, the “factory reset” trend may be funny, but it also reflects a deeper reality: how identity, especially sexuality, is often treated as something that must be corrected or controlled to fit religious expectations. When beliefs label q***rness as something to “fix,” the idea of a reset stops being a joke and becomes a pressure shaped by doctrine and faith.
To celebrate the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia,
Café Humaniste returns with: ☕
“Diyos Ko, Ang Judgmental Mo: How Religion Fuels Queerphobia”
Join us for a discussion with four speakers as we unpack how religion contributes to homophobia and discrimination in society, culture, and the workplace, and how rigid religious expectations can become a barrier to living authentically.
