Dear Members and Friends,

As the winter chill settles in, there's no better excuse to gather around a selection of outstanding craft beers and hear the stories behind them.

Join us at the Ilam Homestead on Tuesday 23 June 2026 for a special Winter Beer Tasting featuring the team from Three Boys Brewery.

We're delighted to welcome Jason, the new owner of Three Boys Brewery, alongside Damian, Head Brewer, who will guide us through a tasting of eight exceptional beers, sharing insights into the brewing process, the inspiration behind each beer, and what makes the Three Boys range one of New Zealand's most respected craft breweries.

Hoplifters Unite NZ IPA (Collaboration with Burkes Brewing)
- Alpha Juice Hazy IPA
- Modern Man West Coast Pilsner
- Ascension Belgian Triple

Join us for a relaxed winter afternoon of wine tasting by the fire as the University of Canterbury Wine Club celebrates its 50th Anniversary in partnership with the University of Canterbury Club and Ilam Homestead.

We’re bringing together an exciting selection of wineries and producers for an intimate Winter Matariki Weekend tasting event in one of Christchurch’s most beautiful heritage venues.

Saturday 11 July 2026
1:00pm – 5:00pm

Warm up your winter with an evening of exceptional wine, great company, and a little bit of Mischief at the beautiful Ilam Homestead!

Join us on Tuesday 9th June 2026 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm for the first Winter Wine Tasting of the year, featuring the exciting and unconventional team from Mischief Wines.

At Mischief, wine is all about enjoyment — no snobbery, no pretence, just seriously delicious wines made for sharing and savouring.

Founded on the belief that great wine should be approachable, fun, and genuinely enjoyable, Mischief Wines are challenging the traditional wine scene one glass at a time.


Guests will enjoy a guided tasting of a fantastic range of wines including:

We are looking forward to hosting QUIZ #2 for this year on Wednesday, 20th May 2026.
We will start promptly at 6 p.m. and aim to finish around 8:20 p.m.

We have a full house with 10 teams signed on which is great!

The kitchen will be open, and we will have hotdogs on sale. The bar will be open the entire time, maybe even a little later if you would like to sit by the fire and keep the night going!
