Xoriguer Gin (“Gin de Mahón”) is de oudste gin uit het Middellandse Zeegebied, gebaseerd op een recept uit 1750 waarin Nederlandse jenever en Engelse gin werden gecombineerd. Sinds 1940 wordt deze gin door het familiebedrijf van Miguel Pons Justo ambachtelijk geproduceerd in de haven van Mahón op Menorca.

Kenmerken & Productie:

Ambachtelijk proces: Handmatig gedistilleerd via de one-shot-methode in meer dan 250 jaar oude koperen alambieken, gestookt op lokaal hout.

Ingrediënten: Kwalitatieve wijnalcohol, jeneverbessen uit de Pyreneeën en bronwater uit Mahón (38% alcohol).

Smaak: Krachtig en kruidig met een dominante jeneverbessmaak, subtiele citrustonen en een lange afdronk.

Identiteit: De distilleerderij produceert jaarlijks ruim 500.000 flessen met het iconische molen-label en promoot via het initiatief “Authentiek Menorca” de cultuur, tradities en natuur van het eiland.
