ST Flannans Fishing Club St Flannans Fishing Club was Founded in 1987 St. Flannan’s Fishing Club was founded in 1987 to promote angling and river rehabilitation, on Lough Derg.

Situated at the Mouth of Lough Derg the main fishing activities are trolling for Pike, Trout and Fly Fishing. The Membership of the Club comes from a wide catchment area and consists of a large family membership. St Flannan’s Fishing Club runs a number of Competitions during the year and assists in the International Pike Fly Competition held in mid September.

An interclub competition for trout was kindly sponsored by Eoin Power, Diarmuid Fitzgerald and John Burns. A mixed day in terms of fishing with only 4 fish weighed in.

The Anchor Inn Perpetual competition was held Sunday 16th. There was approx. 15 boats fishing on the day and the trout fishing proved difficult. 3 fish were measured on the night.

There was a total of 17 fish caught.
