Ronan’s Bar - Bekan, Co. Mayo

Located in the townland of Brackloon West near the village of Bekan, between Knock and Ballyhaunis, Ronan's Bar is a traditional rural Irish pub that has long served as an important meeting place for the local community. The pub is known for its friendly atmosphere and remains a popular stop for locals and visitors exploring east Mayo.

Bekan is perhaps best known today as the home of the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, one of the province's premier Gaelic games training facilities.

A poignant moment today as we bid farewell to the Post Office here in Bekan, due to circumstances out of our control.

In 2003, we took over the mantle from
our neighbours and close friends Tony and Teen Carney.

It has been an honour to offer this service to the community of Bekan, and we will sincerely miss the familiar faces calling every Friday.
