✈️🔥 Advancing turboprop engine control with digital twin technology

A new study in JTAC demonstrates how digital twin technology can significantly improve turboprop engine performance by monitoring and controlling exhaust gas temperature (EGT) in real time, across varying flight conditions. The study shows, that by integrating real-time sensor data with a virtual engine model, the proposed control algorithm could reduce EGT from approximately 1200 K to 900 K. This could lead to enhanced thermal stability, fuel efficiency, and turbine lifespan. 🚀 The findings highlight the potential of digital twins for predictive maintenance and next-generation aerospace engine optimization.
