The Bell is a beautiful community owned pub run by The Mortimer community benefit society in the stunning black and white village of Yarpole, North Herefordshire. Alongside our head chef, Mike, the pub is being run by a wonderful group of volunteers and we open every Weds to Sunday. Check website for full opening times. We also have a wonderful cider barn, ideal for family and private functions

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s made The Bell at Yarpole pub what it is. It’s more than a building — it’s a home for the community. Tonight marks the end of an era for our community pub so cheers to all the memories and here’s to making many more with Blaine & Michelle when they reopen in a few days time 🫶

Here comes the weekend 🫶. And it’s not just any weekend, it’s a BANK HOLIDAY.

Make the most of your Bank Holiday weekend at The Bell at Yarpole — think great pints, hearty food, and laid-back countryside charm. Gather your friends, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy that extra day off the way it’s meant to be: relaxed, cheerful, and just a little bit indulgent.

Lots of treats available all weekend with Bell burgers, classic Sunday lunches and on Monday it’s Bankholidayfest from midday.

The times, they are a-‘changin 🤔 Well there’s change ahead for The Bell at Yarpole anyway.
As we recently shared with you, we have wonderful new tenants Michelle and Blaine starting soon and whilst we all want to be part of their journey the door hasn’t quite closed on the current chapter yet. We have a few more days of trading as a community venture…..

Tonight - Bar open as usual but no food.

Friday 1st May - reduced food menu but plenty of drinks.

Saturday 2nd May - open at lunchtime for drinks/sandwiches and chips. Evening food is Bellburgers.

Sunday 3rd May - Usual delicious Sunday lunches.

Monday 4th May - Well the poster says it all really but it’s going to be a banger of a day starting with a table sale in the barn from 10-12 (no, we’re not selling tables, you put the items you wish to sell on the table!).
From midday and throughout the day we will have live music from Join The Dots, family fun quiz, Street Food Collective Pizza Truck, and great drink offers all day as we attempt to use all the stock. Not forgetting of course that this is your chance to bid adieu to our very own Graham and Lyn before they head down south for their seaside life 🏖️.

We’ve had a fabulous week here at The Bell at Yarpole with sunny skies and plenty of happy customers but we know the rumour mill is starting to grind.

To clear up the rumours and keep everyone in the loop — here are the facts ✅

We’re really excited to share that we’ve found fantastic new tenants who are ready to take The Bell into its next chapter. They bring a wealth of hospitality experience, having worked together for 20 years, including the last 7 at The Crown in Clunton.

Mike, who helped us so much to progress,has now moved on to The Crown at Newcastle upon Clun — we wish him all the very best! Fiona and Georgie have been absolutely brilliant running the show during the past few weeks. We really couldn’t have managed without them. Thank you ladies and best wishes for the future 🙏

Our final day of trading at The Bell will be Bank Holiday Monday, 4th May.
Starting with a Table Top sale from 10.00am. Contact David or Lesley to book a table (donation appreciated).

Come and join us for a day of fun and celebration and help to clear the shelves — the less there is left, the less we have to count! 🍺🍷. It will also be an opportunity to say cheerio to Graham and Lyn before they leave Yarpole for pastures new. Graham will be hosting one final quiz-a lighthearted family fun version starting from 2-3 ish. No booking required, just turn up and pit your wits against Yarpole’s finest. The bar will open at midday with drinks offers all day and Josh’s pizza truck will be in situ from 1pm.

After that, The Bell will close very BRIEFLY while the new tenants get settled in.

As many of you know, our long-term goal has always been to find the right people to carry The Bell forward, and we’re so pleased that moment has arrived.

Thank you for all your support — we hope to see you before and on the 4th! We do hope that you will continue to support our community pub and our new tenants.

No, it’s not Crackerjack, it’s FIZZ FRIDAY at The Bell at Yarpole 🍸🍹
Yes, for one night only, Fizz Friday is back, there’ll be cocktails at £6.50 each or two (of the same) for £10, funky beats and bar bites. There will also be a limited food menu available (burgers, fish & chips, scampi or veggie pie).
It’s looking like the weather will be beautiful again so get your weekend off to a great start and join us at The Bell.
