The Golden Lion is situated in the heart of the picturesque Welsh village of Rossett. Inside the pub, the eclectic mix of old and new bring together a comforting homely appeal with a warm welcome and log fires. Our food menu features an array of dishes to suit all tastes including homemade burgers, classic mains and succulent grills. We are proud to serve a great selection of high quality cask ales offering a wide range of styles and flavours. As renowned for its ghost stories as it is for food the pub has its own spectral guest, Old Jeffrey. Jeffrey now lives quite contentedly in bedroom 2 upstairs and though still inclined to mischief, is perfectly harmless.

Bringing some festive cheer to Rossett; it’s our first ever night market! Sunday 15th November from 4pm!

With stalls in our market street marquees and cosy tipi seating, we hope to welcome you into the festive season with an early evening excuse for a mulled w**e!

With stalls and street food until 7, carols and live music until 8, then a charity quiz and hot supper in the tipi in aid of Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith to finish the night!

Charity quiz is bookings only, tickets paid in advance, doors from 8pm, curry served from then until quiz commences after.

We won’t make any comments as to the likeness of our Bagby here… 😂 but AI aside; James is raising money for Phab, a wonderful charity, and one he is running the London marathon for.

We are hosting a charity quiz night on Friday 23rd October in the Tipi. £15 per person including quiz and a curry (vegan option available) from 7pm. £10 from each ticket to the charity.

Well it couldn’t really be anything but this pose that wins our £50 bar tab! 😂

More for the fact that Claire refused to do a handstand as she felt her knees would cave in, but also the fact that Sophie did it in one take without knocking over her drink!

Day four and final of Festival VIII; our very own Molly Lundy is performing from 3pm in the tipi, we are serving pub lunches alongside our BBQ menu which also runs 12-4pm. Of course Monday 50p off cask ale is on so a great excuse to get those guests ales in!
