2nd XI: 9 wins | 5th place
A solid season for both sides, with plenty of positives to take away and lots to build on over the winter. The results may have been middle of the road, but the progress, team spirit and recruitment throughout the season has been outstanding.

End of Season Celebrations 🏏💚
Please join us as we celebrate another fantastic season at the club.
We’ll also be saying goodbye (for now!) to Tom & Amy, Toby & Polly, and George & Georgie, who are all heading off to Australia for the next 7 months. 🇦🇺✈️
We’d love to see as many members, family and friends there as possible to help us mark the end of the season and wish them all the very best on their travels.

🏏 POTM Round-Up 🏏
takes 1st XI POTM after a stunning unbeaten 74 from just 45 balls*, smashing 9 fours and 3 sixes at an impressive strike rate of 164 👏🏏
Despite George’s outstanding innings, Ripley fell to a 72-run defeat and will be looking to bounce back this weekend. With the ball, Jack and both picked up 2 wickets in a hard-fought effort.
For the 2nd XI, .zapp claims POTM after top-scoring with 17 runs in a difficult, low-scoring encounter 🏏
Availability issues continue to make life challenging at this stage of the season, and unfortunately the 2s suffered a 10-wicket defeat. The lads will be hoping to regroup and finish the season strongly.
A tough weekend for both sides, but plenty to build on as the season enters its final stages 🟢🏏

Join us this Bank Holiday Sunday, 30th August, for one of the biggest days in the Ripley CC calendar.
This year’s President’s Day will also serve as a Memorial Match for Michael Giles, giving us the opportunity to come together as a club and celebrate the life of a much-loved friend.

🏏 POTM Round-Up 🏏
Sam Nash takes 1st XI POTM after a battling 37, with and Toby Zapp both claiming 3 wickets. Despite the teams efforts, the opposition out batted and bowled us to secure a deserved victory. We’d also like to thank Nashy for the games he’s played and hope to welcome him back very soon!
For the 2nd XI, Sam Sugars claims POTM after a superb spell of 4-13 at just 1.63 economy, earning the nod from umpire Neil Woods 👏🏏
He was well backed up by Dan Smith (3 wickets) as Ripley bowled Weybridge out for 166. In reply, David Hughes 53* and Haroon Jamil 57* shared a match-winning partnership to continue the 2s excellent form! Some great batting by the pair🟢💪
In the Sunday XI, David Hughes continues his good form and takes POTM after an unbeaten 50, along with a catch and a stumping behind the wickets 🏏👏
With the ball, Cicely MB, Freddie MB, Tim Russell and Mike Anning all picked up 2 wickets. Cicely MB (46), Tim Russell (24) and Adrian (21) kept Ripley in the hunt, but the side ultimately fell just 13 runs short.
A positive weekend across the club, with the 2s continuing their strong run and two huge fixtures coming up this Saturday! 🟢🏏

🏏 Always a proud moment when one of our juniors makes their senior debut!
A huge congratulations to Barney Allam on making his 2nd XI debut last week in an emphatic victory over Weybridge 4s👏
Barney made an excellent contribution, taking a catch and returning figures of 4 overs for 18 runs. Top-order runs from David Hughes and Haroon Jamil, both scoring half-centuries, helped seal a convincing win for the 2s 💪
It was also a special occasion on Sunday as our Club Secretary, Mike Anning, had the privilege of playing alongside his daughter Olivia, another of our junior graduates. Moments like these are what cricket clubs are all about 🟢🏏
