The Tour de France is coming to Wigan... the route for next year's race has been annnounced today, and we'll be getting an 'Eiffel' of the world's top cyclists next summer! 😂

The men's race will be passing through Orrell and Billinge (yes, the Wigan part of Billinge), on Saturday 3 July 2027, as they race from Keswick to Liverpool.

They'll head along Sandbrook Road, Upholland Road and Crank Road, covering around 2km of Wigan. (they're going UP Crank Road.... which will be a killer! I'll probably watch from a safe seat at The Foot 😂).

There are also plans for local celebrations, with schools, businesses and community groups getting involved - full details in the comments.

Here is the route for next years Tour de France Stage 2 to be held on the 3rd July 2027 HAVE WE GOT A TREAT FOR YOU!! Plans in place it’s going to be a great day of live music food cocktails and b**r and most importantly the race !
