Sadly, we've had to cancel this weekend's KaraOAKe. 🎤

Unfortunately, Hayley is no longer able to make it to The Oak, so the microphones will be getting an unexpected night off.

Not ones to give up without a fight, we're busy trying to find another band to fill the void (having already exhausted our karaoke contacts!), so there's still hope for some entertainment on Saturday night that doesn't involve the bar staff doing the macarena.

Keep an eye on our page for updates – we'll let you know as soon as we have any news. In the meantime, the bar will be open, the beer will be cold, and we'll still be here to keep you fed and watered.

It's Coming... The Royal Oak Beer, Cider & Music Festival!

Three days of (hopefully!) glorious sunshine, fantastic live music, great company, and plenty of real ales and cider to keep you refreshed.

Feast Week will be packed with activities throughout the village, and we're looking forward to rounding off the celebrations in style at The Oak.

We've got an incredible line-up of ales ready to tantalise the tastebuds, with brews from Oakham Ales, Wolf Brewery, Nene Valley Brewery, The Ivo Brewery and Fuller's all lined up and ready to pour.

Prefer something a little sweeter? We'll also have a fantastic selection of ciders from Manyweathers.

Add in a weekend of live music, great food, and the best of village spirit, and you've got all the ingredients for a cracking festival.

Pop it in your diary now (31st July - 2nd Aug) and come and help us celebrate summer together. We can't wait to see you there!

OMG... it's almost time to KaraOAKe! 🎤🍻

Time to start those vocal warm-ups, sip that hot lemon and honey, and carefully curate your song repertoire ready to take the mic and sing your hearts out.

Alternatively, you can order some earplugs from Amazon, book your spot at the bar or in the restaurant, and prepare yourself for the moment that an enthusiastic (but perhaps slightly tone-deaf) soul decides that Bohemian Rhapsody is definitely a solo performance.

We're all about inclusivity here, so whether you're a Tina Turner, a Tom Jones, or a cat stuck up a tree, we want you to come and have a go!

No auditions. No judgement. Just plenty of laughs, a few drinks, and hopefully a couple of genuinely brilliant performances hidden amongst the chaos.

OK, so the TV we will have set up for the World Cup is almost all-singing and all-dancing. If you're on the right channel it'll certainly sing... but unfortunately it doesn't actually dance, but It's definitely big!

The singing and dancing is where we're hoping you lot come in!

Join us on Wednesday for the England game, grab a bite to eat beforehand, settle in with a pint, and let's cheer the boys on together. We've even postponed the darts to show our support, so we'd love to see plenty of you here helping create a proper match-night atmosphere.

Fingers crossed for plenty of England goals, plenty of cheers, and absolutely no need for VAR-induced heart attacks... although we can't promise anything on that front! 🍻⚽️󠁧󠁢󠁥

It's almost Tuesday!

Get yourselves down from 5pm for loaded fries, smash burgers and all the deliciousness that Smother Spudders can throw at you. To make them taste even better, we've got a cracking selection of drinks behind the bar waiting to accompany them.

Who knows, if we're lucky, you might even get to enjoy it all while watching a beautiful sunset in the beer garden... although with the weather behaving like it's got a mind of its own lately, that might be a bit optimistic! 🌤️🌦️

Don't forget it's Quiz Night too!

Make sure you've booked your table and have your bums on seats by 7.15pm so Andy can make the rounds collecting weekly subs, handing out pens, paper and the all-important "Ask Andy" cheat cards.

And for those of you who come every week, you know it's "true" that the first round really does start at 7.30pm. (ish😉)

Friendly reminder!

The pub will be closed today (Monday 15th) while the carpets are cleaned - fingers crossed we have finished the muddy season!

By tomorrow, the carpets should be looking clean and fresh and there's every chance that mysterious stains from over-excited celebrations, muddy boots and "just one more pint" incidents will be nothing but a distant memory.

We'll be back open as usual tomorrow, refreshed, revived and smelling considerably better than we did this morning!
