Voted Pub of the Year 2022 and Country Pub Of Year by CAMRA White Horse Branch since 2017 and listed in the Michelin Guide since 2019, and the Good Food Guide since 2023, the Greyhound Inn is an 18th century country pub in Letcombe Regis, a pretty village within the Vale of the White Horse, where our community and visitors are made very welcome. Our kitchen serves top quality freshly cooked food,

with an à la carte menu, specials board and an excellent value 2- or 3-course lunch offer on weekday lunchtimes. Our bar has four real ales, various lagers and ciders and and an imaginative wine list as well as a range of thoughtfully-chosen gins and cocktails. Children, well-behaved dogs and muddy boots are all welcome. Outside is a large sunny beer garden and lots of free parking. Upstairs we have 8 individual en-suite bedrooms, all featuring luxury handmade beds, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TV, tea and coffee facilities, with fresh milk and homemade biscuits, and indulgent, handmade Bramley toiletries. In the morning you can enjoy a full English breakfast, and we are very happy to make up packed lunches. Some rooms and dog-friendly and some have extra space for children. Letcombe Regis is the perfect base for exploring the Vale of White Horse, and visiting Oxford, the Cotswolds, the River Thames and the racehorse stables of Lambourn. The village is at the base of the Ridgeway Path in the North Wessex Downs, a haven for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

Head Chef Josh talks us through one of the lovely new additions to the menu. Steak Tartare with Murphy’s Stout Bread, a silky smoked onion dressing, shavings of Parmesan and a scattering of crispy onions. A rather gorgeous little number, balancing sweet and savoury beautifully, and just the thing for sun-drenched afternoons.

What a bank holiday to remember! 🥵 Thank you to everyone who came, ate, stayed, and brought friends. And thank you for reminding us why we do this. We can’t wait for the next one in August. Let’s hope we get just as lucky with the weather, dare we say it… a bit cooler.

Meanwhile - Sunday roast is on this weekend, the garden’s open all week, and the kitchen’s back to normal.

See you soon.

Four walks that start at our door.

All of them end at the bar.

Here’s the truth about a good country pub: the walk matters as much as the pint. So we mapped the four we send people on most often.

Around Letcombe Regis & The Recreation Ground— 25-40 mins

Around Letcombe Regis & The Nature Reserve — 30 - 45 mins

To Letcombe Bassett across the fields and back— 70 - 80 mins

Up to the Ridgeway and Around Segsbury Camp — 90 - 120 mins

Save this for the next sunny weekend. Pick up a map and you can be on your way.

Then pop in for a well-earned pint, glass of wine or one of amazing selection of alcohol-free options. Or even stay for a meal.

Which one are you doing first? 👇

Today calls for a small pause to appreciate some of our most regular and best-behaved guests.

It’s National Pet Day, and it would feel wrong not to mark the occasion. From muddy paws after a long walk to those who settle straight in by the fire, they’re very much part of the rhythm here.

If you’ve visited with your four-legged companion, you’ll know they’re always welcome.

Here’s to the dogs who lead the way to the pub.
