The Old Post Office, in the heart of the historic market town of Wallingford, is our exciting modern interpretation of an original Public House.

Sitting near the Thames, this old post office has been lovingly restored to combine comfort, atmosphere and style. A traditional bar area with intimate seating merges into a light, contemporary restaurant with a courtyard garden. Join us for breakfast, morning coffee or tea, and a selection of fresh cakes and pastries. Enjoy our Mediterranean-inspired lunches or dinners, featuring dishes grilled in our charcoal-fuelled Josper oven. Our bar is open all day, with an extensive list of wines, beers, real ales and cocktails.

We were sorry to hear the Crazy Bear has closed its doors. If you had a table booked there, we’d love to look after you instead.

Bring your plans to the Old Post Office, show us your Crazy Bear booking reference, and your first glass of fizz/w**e or a pint is on us. Same date, same time, same people, if we can help we will - just give us a call or pop in and we’ll do our best to find you a table.

Join us this week for some of our delicious weekly specials - showcased here are our Duck Breast, with a beautiful homemade forest fruit and red w**e reduction… our Pork Chops with a celeriac puree and garlic new potatoes… and our very own Salmon Nicoise… and don’t forget to save room for dessert with a handcrafted Dessert Calzone - full of chocolatey goodness, banana and topped up with icing sugar and some fresh raspberries!
