We’re thrilled to welcome Michelin-starred chef Michael Smith to the Perle family as our new Culinary Director and Brand Ambassador. 🍽️

After ten remarkable years at Loch Bay on the Isle of Skye, Michael joins us on 1 November. He’ll work with our teams across Skye, Oban, Glencoe and Edinburgh to shape restaurants that celebrate provenance, local sourcing and a real sense of place.

Michael is no stranger to Perle. More than a decade ago, he helped develop Dulse & Brose at The Bosville in Portree, so in many ways this is a homecoming.

UPDATE: The power is now back on in all three hotels.

Due to the storm, our hotels on Skye (Marmalade, Bosville and Brackenhide) are currently without electricity and water.

SSEN expects to restore power by 8pm tonight. Our team are working hard to ensure all our guests are well looked after.

Please note that the hotels have no internet and their phone lines are affected, so you can’t reach them directly.

We’re sorry for the disruption and will post another update once power is restored.

Meet the Clover Club, a classic with a history stretching back more than 120 years.

Named after a gentlemen's club in Philadelphia, where journalists, lawyers and businessmen would gather in the late 1800s, the cocktail became a favourite in the years before American Prohibition.

Made with gin, raspberry, lemon and traditionally egg white to create that lovely frothy finish, it's a cocktail that looks every bit as good today as it did over a century ago.

And we think our team at Marmalade have done a rather good job with this one!

We're just a short walk from the centre of Portree, so there's plenty you can do without getting back behind the wheel.

Take a wander down to the harbour, explore the shops around town, stop somewhere for a drink, or head back to Marmalade for dinner at Chargrill.
