From talking to many of you, I know how many different factors affect the volume of business each week.
A settled period of good weather can undoubtedly help, although it can get too hot at times. On the coast, when the weather is fine, bars along the seafront can be extremely busy, but one block back can be very quiet.
Equally, pubs with decent b**r gardens can thrive at the expense of those without. Micropubs with a high percentage of regulars can suffer if too many of them take a holiday at the same time.
Disposable income is probably the biggest concern for many of us, and it often follows that after a busy week there is a drop off in trade. What nobody can predict though, is the occasional madly busy weekday or stangely quiet weekend. Our sales have been pretty consistent which shows that we have a good mix of customers.
We have reduced keg availability this week, but all three missing b**rs are in fermenters and will be back available soon. We do have a full cask range though 🍺
