We have been trying for 2 years to get this gig sorted and it’s finally happening! Craven are a beautiful dark monster of British folk and they’re playing at Things Happen Here on Saturday November 21st supported by experimental electronic foot percussion and modular noise duo CAWDAHECK.

This is going to be a very Things Happen Here night!

POSTPONED

Sorry but we have just heard that The Fish And Chip Stop have had to postpone tonight’s service at CLASH.

Fish and chips will return again next week from 5-7.

And it’s goodbye from the Big Kebabski…

Everyone at Things Happen Here and CLASH wants to wish the brilliant Justa and Luke all the best for the future. TQ9 won’t be the same without The Big Kebabski on a Sunday-end of an era.

Thanks for all the good times and brilliant food and thanks for working with THH since day 1. We are so glad so many people came out to see you at CLASH on your final day. Cheers guys-here’s to the future…

THIS IS A CUSTOMER SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Tonight’s Baka Beyond gig has an early 7pm start and is going to be busy (and fun!)

Things Happen Here is ticket only for the gig from 6.30 and we will be unable to serve non ticket holders after 6.30. Tickets are available from the link in our bio.

Mx Mikki is playing a gig warm up DJ set outside 2-6. If you want a drink but don’t want to go to the gig, our other venue CLASH is open 3 mins walk away until 8pm so that’s you sorted 🍺

Finally-if you’re at THH wondering where the Big Kebabski are, their final ever serving is also over at CLASH today for the classics_at_clash car meet.

Coming up this week at Things Happen Here and CLASH…

What a week of food, music and more we have for you this week!

Food! Friday Mexican food from Basement 17 Tacos sound tracked by DJ Ren, Saturday moules and frites from The Mussel Men with an early doors solo show (arrive around midday) from The Golden Dregs and Sunday it the final ever Big Kebabski. All happening at CLASH and don’t forget it’s the latest Classics at CLASH classic car meet this Sunday 12-3 as well as the return of our Q***r Open Mic on Thursday.

At Things Happen Here on Friday it’s gig time with US band Ohtis supported by Bristols Lifter for a night of ace Americana/ indie folk. On Sunday it’s Baka Beyond live bringing the festival vibes from 7pm. Get tickets from the links in our bio. This weekends weather permitting outside DJs are Dartmoog on Saturday and Mx Mikki pre gig on Sunday.

Gig alert!

This Friday 11th at THH American alt/folk band Ohtis are playing with support from Bristol’s Lifter (who we put an album out for last year). Ohtis have releases on Full Time Hobby records and play beautiful Americana FFO Wilco, Big Thief, Iron and W**e, Sufjan Stevens. This is going to be a great gig!

TOAST supports and all ages show news…

The brilliant TOAST return to Things Happen Here on October 10th and we have are pleased to announce that we have nailed two great supports and made this show an all ages show…

The supports: Pitfeeders are a two piece in the classic mold of Soft Play/The White Stripes/Big Black who feature Frazer who used to be in one of the SWs best indie bands Obvious Reasons. Opening this gig we have local band Drawer Full O’ Lemons last seen at our outdoor punk/metal show over the road at CLASH.

The gig is all ages and free entry to THH Gig Club members.

DART Market is back this Saturday!

Come along to the C***r Press Centre for a local market built around organic and regenerative principles, bringing together brilliant producers, makers and traders from across the area.

Expect fruit, veg, meat, cheese, bread, cakes, flowers, books, vinyl, crafts and more.

Coming up this weekend at Things Happen Here and CLASH…

This weekends weather dependent outside DJ line up at THH is (drumroll please…) Dee Killkely on Friday, Feet To The Floor on Saturday and Ska Au Go Go on Sunday. Make the most of these sessions before the summer ends!

Over the road at CLASH on Saturday at it’s the return of the monthly DART Market with bonus live music!

Come on over to support the market and shop local for food and crafts from 11-4pm and to coincide with the market closing time we have a live performance from Bity Booker launching her new album ‘There’s No Song About A Stone’.

Bitty played a fantastic show at Things Happen Here last year and if you’re a fan of the likes of Joanna Newsom, Aldos Harding, Karen Dalton and Vasti Bunyan then you’re going to want to be at CLASH on Saturday. Bitty will be playing two sets at 4 and 7pm and CLASH will be opening early for the market at 11pm.

Food is available on Sunday at THH from The Big Kebabski and Friday and Saturday at CLASH from a new name on the local pizza scene, Furno Pizza.

(Please note that CLASH is closed from 6.30 this Friday for a private event, pizza is only available to non guests on Friday from 5-6.30)
