🧠 WHO’S READY FOR ANOTHER CHARITY QUIZ? 🧠

Earlier this month, you lovely lot turned out in droves for our Charity Quiz in aid of the British Heart Foundation. ❤️ Every table was taken, the pub was buzzing and the atmosphere was fantastic!

So, when the lovely Eileen approached us about hosting another charity quiz, we didn’t hesitate to say YES! 🙌

📅 Sunday 20th September
⏰ Quiz starts at 7pm
📍 The Air Hostess

This time, Eileen & Friends will be taking over quizmaster duties to raise money for The Radford Care Group — a fantastic Nottingham charity supporting people living with dementia and their carers. 💙

The rules are the same as always:

👥 Maximum 6 people per team
💷 £2 per player
🧠 Bring your best general knowledge… and that one friend who knows all the random stuff!

POSTING ON BEHALF OF THE EVENTS COMMITTEE!

Could You Help Us Keep Our Village Events Going? 🎪

If you live in the village — or have friends and family who do — chances are you’ve enjoyed either The Christmas Cracker or The Village Fayre down at The Open Space.

Both events are always great fun and, more importantly, give everyone the chance to come together and enjoy a proper bit of village community spirit. ❤️

Behind the scenes, both events are organised by a small committee who work throughout the year planning, booking entertainment, arranging stalls and generally making sure everything comes together on the day.

And this is where we could do with a little extra help!

We’re looking for a couple of new people to join our merry little band and help spread the load. It really isn’t a huge commitment and mainly involves:

1.⁠ ⁠Attending a meeting on the second Wednesday of each month at The Air Hostess
2.⁠ ⁠Helping with set-up and take-down on the day of the events

That’s it!

If you think you might be interested, have some fresh ideas to bring to the table, or simply fancy getting a little more involved in village life, we’d love to hear from you.

Tuesday 8th - Update for anyone heading our way today.

The A606 Melton Road is closed from Wheatcrofts roundabout to the Shell Petrol station and scheduled to re-open at 7.00pm. We’ll post an update if that time changes or the road reopens before then.

If you’re heading from the Keyworth / Cotgrave direction, the works don’t affect you.

If you’re travelling from the Wheatcrofts direction, you’ll need to take a detour on the A52 towards Morrisons, then take the turn to Tollerton via the airport and Spire hospital.

Quick Sunday update for anyone heading our way today. The A606 Melton Road is closed from Wheatcrofts roundabout to the Shell Petrol station, scheduled to re-open at 7.00pm.

If you’re heading from the Keyworth / Cotgrave direction, the works don’t affect you.

However, if you normally travel from the Wheatcrofts direction, you’ll need to take a detour on the A52 towards Morrisons, then take the turn to Tollerton via the airport and Spire hospital.

☀️🍕🍺 WOW… WHAT A FABULOUS SUMMER WE’VE HAD! 🍺🍕☀️

What a summer it’s been at The Air Hostess! To name just a few, we’ve had our Dog Show, Family Fun Day, Village Event, World Cup, Beer Festival, Open Mic Nights, Ladies Golf Day, Ladies Raceday and plenty of Quizzes! 😅

The sun shone and shone, the beers just kept flowing and we’ve made some brilliant memories along the way. No wonder our staff are looking almost as exhausted as the garden grass! 😂🌱

But there’s no denying it… autumn vibes are definitely in the air now. 🍂 As the evenings get cooler and we all start heading back inside, it’s almost time to close up the Outside Bar and Pizza Oven for the season. 😢

BUT… if Pizza & a Pint has been one of your favourite combinations this summer, you’ve still got ONE LAST CHANCE TO GRAB A SLICE! 🍕🍺

Wow… you guys really do LOVE a quiz! 🤩📝🍻

On behalf of Helen and her family, we’d like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who came along and took part in Sunday night’s quiz.

Thanks to your entry fees, raffle tickets and incredible generosity, we raised an amazing £1,240! ❤️

Every penny will be donated to the British Heart Foundation in memory of Gaz, which makes the evening even more special.

A massive thank you to everyone who donated raffle prizes, bought tickets, joined in and helped make the night such a success. We really do have a fantastic community around us. ❤️

£1,240 raised in one night — not bad for a bit of quizzing and a few pints! 🍺🧠

🏇 GENTS RACEDAY – SOUTHWELL OKTOBERFEST! 🍻

We’re all for equal opportunities at The Air Hostess! 😂

The ladies have had their fabulous day at the races, so now it’s time for you Gents to get suited, booted and head to the track! 🎩🏇🍺

📅 Saturday 3rd October
📍 Southwell Racecourse – Oktoberfest Race Evening

🎟️ Tickets – £45 per person, which includes:

🚌 Transport to & from Southwell Racecourse
🏇 Entry to the Grandstand
🍛 A curry waiting for you back at the pub

We’ll be leaving The Air Hostess at 3pm, ready to catch the first race, with the coach departing the racecourse at approximately 9pm.

So dust off your best suit, gather the lads and get ready for an afternoon of racing, beers and Oktoberfest fun! 🍻🐎
