🚑 Community First Aid Course – A Few Spaces Remaining 🚑

We still have a handful of spaces available on our next Community First Aid Course taking place on Monday 15th June.

These sessions are designed to give local people practical skills and confidence to deal with real-life emergencies and everyday incidents. Please note these courses are intended for personal and community use and are not suitable for commercial certification or workplace requirements.

The response so far has been incredible, and we’re pleased to confirm that we have another four courses already scheduled to help as many people as possible access this training.

Because when something goes wrong, the first person on scene is rarely a professional – it’s usually a friend, neighbour, colleague or family member.

Well… that was a slightly more dramatic start to the bank holiday weekend than we had planned 😅

BUT… we are back open today and ready for a glorious sunny Bank Holiday weekend at The Waggon ☀️🍻

Just a little heads up — we do have a few parties and group bookings in throughout the weekend, so some areas may be reserved at certain times. Other than that, it’s pretty much business as usual.

Thank you again for all the support and understanding over the last 24 hours — it genuinely means a lot to us and the team ❤️

We know a few people are wondering why we have closed this evening, so we wanted to address it directly rather than allow rumours and speculation to spread.

Earlier today there was an incident which required police attendance and, following advice from both the Police and Licensing Authority, we have taken the decision to close on safety grounds.

As always, the safety and wellbeing of our staff, customers and community comes first. Whilst this is frustrating for everyone, we hope people understand that these decisions are never taken lightly.

We are incredibly grateful for all of the support, kindness and understanding shown to the team today. We’re proud to be part of such a strong community.

Thank you all and we hope to see you back by the weekend.

Right then… after consulting approximately 47 different weather apps, a bloke with a dodgy knee, and looking out the window every 5 minutes… it looks like we’re in for some proper hefty showers and possibly thunder & lightning ⚡️ this afternoon and evening 🌧️🏍️

As much as we appreciate dedication, we don’t particularly want a car park full of drowned rats in leather jackets or bikes turning into jet skis, so tonight’s Bike Night is being postponed. We’ll get a new date sorted ASAP once the weather decides to stop acting like it’s auditioning for Waterworld.

HOWEVER… all is not lost 🍔🍟🍺

Burger Night is STILL ON from 6pm–9pm, so if you fancy sheltering from the apocalypse with a decent burger and a pint, we’ve got you covered.

Right then… Terri has officially lost the plot and agreed to race Kieran’s saloon stock car in the ladies race at Smeatharpe Stadium on 21st June 🤣🏁

All jokes aside, we’re ridiculously proud of her for stepping completely up and pushing her limits for such an incredible cause. The race is in aid of Devon Air Ambulance — a charity that genuinely saves lives across our area every single day.

We’ll have a sponsor form in the pub from tomorrow if anyone would like to support her, whether it’s £1, £5 or just moral support and a bit of encouragement before she launches someone sideways into a corner 👀😂

If racing is your thing, come along and watch too — it should be a brilliant night. We’ll let everyone know as soon as tickets go on sale 🏁💙🧡

What. A. Week 😅

It’s been absolute chaos in the best possible way — online orders flying out, bottles disappearing from the shelves at Mainline Spirit Co. and the pub keeping us properly on our toes too. We genuinely can’t thank you all enough for the support.

We also dropped a selection of our award-winning gins into the Taunton Visitor Centre today for a little project… and let’s just say there may be a slight French connection involved 🇫🇷🥖🍸 Keep an eye out this week, we’re pretty excited about this one.

And finally… Happy Somerset Day! 🍎🚜

A few of you eagle-eyed lot may also have spotted a tiny spoiler of what’s arriving next month too 👀 Trust us, there’s plenty brewing behind the scenes at the moment.

Well Taunton… what a day at eat:Festival. ❤️

The town absolutely came alive today and the support for our little distillery was honestly incredible. We pretty much sold an entire batch of Bullet Gin in a few hours — to the point we had to do an emergency restock at 1pm. 🤯

As it stands… there are just FIVE bottles left. 👀

Don’t panic too much though — the next batch is already in production and will be ready next week. If you order now, bottles will be shipped from Tuesday onwards.

To celebrate Bullet Gin being crowned England’s Best Contemporary Gin at the World Gin Awards, we’ve also got it on special offer on the website for a limited time. 🍸🇯🇵
