Well… We’ve been keeping a bit of a secret. 👀
To be fair, potentially not the BEST kept secret in Somerset... but, we can finally make it official!
WE’RE THE NEW OWNERS OF THE ALLERFORD! 💚
Hello everyone! 👋🏻 We’re Chris & Cloe, the duo who’ve officially taken the reins here at The Allerford!
Now, we’ve actually been here for just over TWO WEEKS already… so why the wait to announce ourselves?
Well, we wanted to do things properly. 💚
With so many lovely engaged couples trusting The Allerford with one of the biggest days of their lives, it was incredibly important to us that they heard about the change of ownership directly from us, rather than discovering it on Facebook.
We’ve now contacted all of our booked wedding couples, had the pleasure of meeting some of you in person, and have been busy getting to know the business from the inside out.
So, with that all underway, we thought it was finally time to say a proper HELLO! 👋🏻
A LITTLE ABOUT US…
Some of you will already know Cloe, who’s been part of the team here this year. She also has a super strong background in running pubs, bars and restaurants all over. As for Chris… well, he’s the new face you’ll probably spot running around behind the bar looking confused as to which light switch does what. 😂 Chris has also spent years managing pubs/bars/restaurants and retail outlets too but more recently has spent the last few years as a wedding videographer. Between the two of us, we’re excited about what our skills can bring to the place! 🥹
We have BIG ambitions, plenty of ideas and an awful lot of enthusiasm (possibly more than sense! 😅)
Taking on The Allerford is a huge adventure for us, and we genuinely couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead.
SO, WHAT’S CHANGING? 👀
Well, for starters…
OUT WITH THE INN! 😍
You might have spotted a few changes already! We’ve officially dropped the ‘Inn’, introduced a fresh new identity, look and launched our brand-new website!

And that’s only just the beginning!
We’ve got some fantastic plans for the restaurant, bar, weddings, events and entertainment. Some you’ll see very soon, while others will take a little more time to bring to life.
But one thing we want to make clear is that we’re not here to change everything people know and love about The Allerford. We’re here to build on it, bring some fresh energy and make it even better.
PROUDLY OWNER-OPERATED 💚
One of the biggest changes is that The Allerford is now run directly by us.
No layers of management - just the two of us working hands-on alongside our fantastic team.
You’ll find us behind the bar, out on the floor, chatting with customers and probably occasionally looking like we’ve forgotten what day it is! 😂
We want to be approachable, involved and genuinely interested in what our customers think. So if you’ve got some cheeky ideas, bits of feedback or just fancy introducing yourself, please do let us know using the contact form on the website - you’ll get through to us directly!

We also want to say a HUGE thank you to every single member of staff who’s helped us through these first couple of weeks.
Taking over a busy venue is no small task, and there’s been an awful lot to learn, organise and change behind the scenes.
Your patience, hard work, support and willingness to embrace this new chapter have been absolutely invaluable. We really couldn’t have done it without you, and we’re so excited about what we can achieve together.
AND TO OUR WONDERFUL WEDDING COUPLES… 💍
We know that a change of ownership can understandably raise questions, especially when you’ve already booked such an important occasion.
We want to reassure you that all existing wedding bookings are being honoured, including deposits already paid to the previous company that were here.
We’ve been so grateful for the lovely conversations we’ve already had with many of you, and we cannot wait to help make your special days everything you’ve dreamed of.

Whether you’ve been visiting The Allerford for years, haven’t dropped in for a while, or have never stepped through our doors before, we’d absolutely LOVE to welcome you.
We’re hoping to be sharing plenty of updates, exciting announcements, behind-the-scenes moments and probably a fair bit of chaos along the way! 😂
We’re both really excited to see what the future holds for The Allerford and would love for you all to join us.
