The Southgate

The Southgate Caroline and the team, welcome you to The Southgate, open 7 days a week. Food served Wednesday- Thursday 10am- 2:30pm and 5pm - 8pm. Friday 9am- 8:30pm.

Sunday 9am- 4pm. Bar open till 11pm Monday - Thursday. 12am Friday - Saturday. Sunday 10:30pm. The aim of The Southgate is to provide local people living in Southgate and Pennard with a facility in the heart of our (pub less) village where we can come in relax and have a drink and chat with family and friends. We believe it's hugely beneficial to ourselves, as residents of Pennard and Southgate to

continue with the ethos of the founders of the club; which was founded in the 1920's in what were originally donated and converted cattle sheds. The club currently has a membership of approximately 500 people and whilst we are a club, we welcome non-members as well. Members using their membership card get lower prices than non-members for whom the prices are more like local pub prices. Food prices are the same for all. As we are a club, all important decisions are made by an elected committee who meet on a monthly basis. However, the day to day running of the club is done by the steward and stewardess and their team. The Southgate is currently in the good hands of Simon and Caroline Taylor, with the assistance of Matt (our fantastic chef), and an incredible team of welcoming, friendly staff.
