We’re currently looking for a new member of staff to join our team!

Experience is preferred, but it’s not essential. If you’re hardworking, reliable, flexible and have a positive, can-do attitude, full training will be provided.

🕒 Hours:
Every Saturday & Sunday, plus additional hours to cover staff holidays and when required.

⚠️ Please note: Weekend availability is non-negotiable. Please only apply if you can commit to working both Saturday AND Sunday every week, as well as providing additional cover when needed.

Applicants must be at least 17 years old or have left school due to our hours of business.

Just a quick update to let you know that we’ve now resumed our normal opening hours, now that the heat has subsided and the road has reopened.

* Saturday-12pm-2.30pm
* Sunday-12pm-3pm

Evening Meals
Due to popular demand, we’re extending our evening food service!

Wednesday-Saturday: 5pm-8pm

Good evening all,

So the good news is as of tomorrow Sudbury Road will be open and no further closures until next month.
However, due to the extreme heat that is predicted tomorrow and for the safety of our kitchen & bar staff, we have taken the decision to not open the pub until 5pm Friday 26th June.
If you call us before 5pm please leave a message and a member of staff will get back to you tomorrow evening.

To all our customers,

This week Sudbury Road is closed from 8pm - 6am until Saturday 27th June.
Therefore we have taken the decision to alter our food service times today & tomorrow evening (Wed & Thurs).
We will be open all day for drinks as usual and our lunch service will stay the same (12pm-2pm) however our evening food service will start at the earlier time of 5pm and finish at 7pm, allowing access to leave the village before the road closes at 8pm.

We appreciate your understanding in this situation. We will update again tomorrow to advise food service hours for Friday and Saturday this week.

They bring people together and bring life to our cities, towns and villages, but they're under huge pressure from rising costs.

In the UK, you pay one of the highest VAT rates in Europe. 20% extra in VAT for your meal out or stay away. In France, Spain and Italy, it's 10%. In Germany? 7%.

Our message to Government is simple. Let's stand together to say VAT at 10% is fair for hospitality.

Reduce VAT on hospitality to 10% to prevent closures & protect tax revenue. When venues close, HMRC loses 100% of its VAT, business rates, PAYE & corporation tax, reducing employment & supply chains. We believe a lower VAT rate would keep viable businesses trading, securing jobs & ongoing revenue.
