How beautiful is ST James Church looking, all ready for Sunday’s Remembrance Service. ❤️

A huge thank you to the Sea Cadets and Shirley Legion for their very kind donation of poppies.

Using the poppies donated, I’m making a 5-foot cross to be laid at the service on Sunday, on behalf of myself, my husband and Strawbs.

It’s a real honour to be able to contribute something so special as we come together to remember and honour those who gave so much for our freedom.

Lest we forget. 🌺❤️

❤️ BRINGING OUR COMMUNITY TOGETHER! ❤️

As the nights draw in and we head towards Christmas, we’re looking at ways to make Strawbs more than just a place to enjoy a drink. 🥰

We want to create opportunities for people to get together, make memories, meet new people and celebrate the wonderful independent businesses and talented people we have right here in our local community. ❤️

Whether you’re planning a family get-together, a work social, a catch-up with friends or simply fancy organising something a little different, Strawbs could be just the place!

🎄 Fancy getting creative? We’ll be hosting our own Christmas wreath-making workshops, and we’d love to welcome other local creatives who run workshops and are looking for a space to bring their ideas to life. From arts and crafts to something completely different, we’re open to ideas!

❤️ Are you a local independent business? Perhaps you’d like to showcase your products, promote your services, host a small event, run a workshop or introduce your business to new people. We’d love to explore ways we can work together and help support one another. After all, supporting independent businesses helps keep our local community thriving!

🍗 Planning a get-together but don’t want to worry about food? We can help with that too! Whether it’s a few nibbles, some delicious Jamaican jerk chicken or food ordered in, we can explore the options to suit your occasion.

We’re passionate about bringing people together, supporting local businesses and creating a welcoming space where people can connect, share ideas and try something new.

📩 Got an idea? Want to organise a get-together, run a workshop or promote your own independent business? Drop us a message — we’d love to hear from you!

Let’s make the run-up to Christmas about good company, new opportunities and supporting one another. 🥰

Strawbs — more than just a bar, a place to meet, connect and grow together. ❤️
