Set in the wonderful location of Knowle, The King's Arms is a unique country pub and restaurant that blends rural charm with modern flair. We invite you to dine out in stylish yet welcoming surroundings and sample our seasonal menus, perfectly complimented by an array of cask conditioned ales and fine wines . The King's Arms, is the latest incarnation of several inns that have occupied this canal side site and welcomed many a traveller, weary or otherwise. The original, in 1816, was a rough-hewn establishment called The Blue Boar but by 1874 it had been renamed The King's Arms, before it was officially called the Cat in the Window in 1959. This remained its affectionate nickname for many years, when it was later renamed the Bridgewater Hotel. Enjoy a spot of alfresco eating and drinking overlooking the Grand Union canal, dine with a difference in our opulently furnished restaurant, or cosy up to our crackling fires in the winter.

🚧 A LITTLE DETOUR, BUT WE’RE OPEN! 🔥

A little courtesy notice for anyone travelling from Knowle along Warwick Road towards The King’s Arms.

There’s currently a road closure just beyond the two junctions on your right for Grove Road and Norton Green Lane.

You may need to allow an extra 6-minute detour to reach us. We’re unsure how long the closure will remain in place, but please don’t let it put you off!

Our fires are lit, we’re open, and we’re ready to welcome you. 🍂
