What a day at the Bearwood Shuffle!
Despite a less-than-perfect weather forecast, thousands of people descended on Lightwoods Park and proved once again what makes Bearwood such a special place. The rain may have made it a little bit of a wet fest at times, but if anything, it only added to the atmosphere as the community came together and embraced the day.
It’s no surprise that founders Matt Taylor and Jez Collins are looking like very happy – and very relieved – men. Organising an event of this scale is no small feat, and together with their incredible team of devoted volunteers, they’ve delivered another outstanding celebration of everything that’s great about Bearwood.
The Bearwood Shuffle isn’t about profit. It’s about bringing people together, supporting local talent, celebrating community spirit and creating a fantastic day out for the whole family. From live music and colourful characters (ahem and ) to a bustling artisan market, delicious food vendors (including our very own posh burgers), there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Events like this don’t happen by accident. They happen because passionate people give up countless hours behind the scenes to make them a reality.
So a huge well done to the entire Shuffle team, and an equally big well done to the people of Bearwood. You turned up in your droves, supported local businesses, enjoyed the entertainment and showed once again that a little rain won’t stop this community from having a great time.
