“Run a pub,” they said. “It’ll be fun,” they said…
They didn’t tell you about:
🍺 6am b**r deliveries when you only crawled into bed at 2am.
🧾 Endless admin when you’d give anything for an extra hour of sleep.
🎭 customer an staff dramas that could give EastEnders a run for its money.
🚽 Cleaning the toilets — because apparently, some adults skipped the “aim and flush” part of growing up.
📞 Midnight calls from customers asking if we’ve seen their “lucky hat.”
💡 The till deciding to have a meltdown five minutes before service.
🍽️ Deliveries not turning up at all (because who doesn’t love a surprise shortage?).
🎶 And of course, the “one more song!” crowd who think closing time is just a polite suggestion.
But for every bit of madness, there’s the magic —
the laughter echoing through the bar,
the familiar faces who’ve become friends,
the stories shared over a pint,
and that unbeatable feeling when the community comes together under one roof..
Tonight...my regulars said to me.. "Lou?! Thank you for
"SAVING OUR PUB"
