After more than four and a half years of working behind the bar at the Old Star, Nigel will be pulling his last pints and mixing his final cocktails (!) this Tuesday, the 26th.

It won't be goodbye though as he's assured us he'll still be popping regularly in as a customer, but we'd like to take this opportunity to say thanks to him for all his hard work and for making such an excellent contribution to the life of the pub.

If you'd like to pop in on his final shift, we are open from 2:30 - 9pm. Hope to see you there.

We've just found a pin of this which has been hiding in our cellar since winter.

It's well within its best before date (mid June), but as it isn't very seasonal, we're selling it at £4 a pint.

Thank you to all who took part in our sausage roll competition last Sunday, whether as an entrant, a judge or an onlooker.

It was a great day, although I think most of us couldn't face another sausage roll for a good while yet.

Congratulations to our winners, with Maggie and Clare taking 3rd and 2nd places and James scooping top place and winning this awful but glorious trophy.

We've launched our cask loyalty card!

Get a stamp for each pint of cask beer purchased before 5pm Monday to Friday.

Receive a free pint once you've collected 8 stamps.

Here are the small print bits and pieces...
* Only valid for drink-in
* Free pint can be claimed Monday - Friday before 5pm
*Not valid on bank holidays

Ask at the bar if you'd like a card or if you'd like any more info.
