Wednesday 30th September. ANDY IRVINE and QUILTY.
"Sometimes a gig comes along that changes everything. Those who were lucky enough to be in The Seanti last night were treated to possibly the best show we've ever had here. The night ended with a thoroughly deserved standing ovation. Andy along with Quilty gave a performance that won't easily be bettered or forgotten. We sincerely can't wait for their return." ( The Seanti, tour of Ireland show)
One of the truly great Irish singers Andy Irvine is hailed as "a tradition in himself".
A musician, singer and songwriter he's maintained his highly individual performing skills throughout his 55+ years career and, although an integral part of some of the finest Irish bands of our time, he has a vibrant career as a solo artist in the old style, a teller of tales and maker of music. An icon for traditional music and musicians and a world music pioneer, he fills the role as the archetypal troubadour with a show and lifestyle that reflect his lifelong influence, Woodie Guthrie. Joining Andy tonight is Swedish band Quilty, a highly renowned interpreter of traditional Irish music and considered to be the foremost band of the Irish music scene in Scandanavia. Since 2020 they've been touring with the programme Out On The Ocean - sea shanties, emigration songs, love ballads and songs about epic adventures at sea in a salty and tar scented concert programme combining Irish, Scottish and Scandinavian songs with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop.
Expect a unique, exciting musical journey.
