🥃 Whisky of the Week: Nikka Coffey Grain 🐒
This week at The Blind Monkey, we’re pouring something a little different smooth, sweet, and seriously underrated: Nikka Whisky’s Coffey Grain.
Distilled using traditional Coffey stills, this Japanese grain whisky delivers a rich, silky profile that’s perfect whether you’re a seasoned sipper or just starting your whisky journey.
Tasting Notes
👃 Nose:
Fresh and inviting think vanilla fudge, ripe pear, and a hint of tropical banana. There’s a gentle caramel sweetness with a light floral lift.
👅 Palate:
Smooth as they come. Creamy toffee and butterscotch lead the way, followed by notes of sweet corn, citrus peel, and a touch of coconut. It’s mellow, rounded, and dangerously easy to drink.
🔥 Finish:
Soft and lingering with warming vanilla, a sprinkle of spice, and just a whisper of oak.
Why we love it:
It’s approachable without being boring easy-going but still packed with character. A perfect dram to sip, share, and maybe convert a few friends who “don’t like whisky.”
Pop in this week and give it a try—this one doesn’t hang around for long.
