Our soft-drinks technician and mixologist genius Mr. Monty has whipped up three exclusive cocktails for the event that highlight our big three — beer, wine and cider — and incorporate our signature in-house hand-crafted soft drinks, offered all year round!

The 2024 vintage is fruit-forward, with a wispy, smoky cushion around it, showcasing stunning juiciness and balanced bitterness, presented in a lovely dry, sparkling style.

September Wine Flight 🇬🇧

We are celebrating the end of summer with a trio of UK-sourced wines. Let’s dig in!

Kicking it off with a champagne method from Devon, the Classic Sparkling 2020 (11.5%) from Huxbear. Grown and bottled on Huxbear’s estate, this classing sparkling is a blend of 70% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir & 10% Pinot. Meunier. This wine is bottled fermented, has had 40 months less aging and is brut in style.

Next up we have an aromatic English white on draft from Westwell Wines, Ortega (11.5%). This 2025 vintage has been wild fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to retain its freshness and purity of fruit.

And last but not least we have a Pinot Noir from Mountain People based in Monmouthshire in Wales, St. Jude (11%). A blend of the warmer 2023 and cooler 2024 that Dave himself grew in his family estate. This is also the first release of wine from these vines planted all the way back in 2017!

In celebration of International Dog Day on Wednesday 26th August, we are teaming up Orchard Square, Sheffield and will have a donation box in the bar on Saturday 29th August! We encourage you to bring down any toys and goodies which will be donated to the RSPCA Sheffield Animal Centre via our supervisor and RSPCA volunteer Lila — let’s make some pooches days ❣️

Orchard Square will also be hosting dog friendly pop-up shops on the square this day and we’ll also be joined by our friends at Support Dogs who are bringing some friendly pooches with them on the day!

And that marks another year of The Old Shoe Beer Festival — see you in 2027.

We can’t thank you guys enough for another fabulous day. A big shout-out to all of the wonderful breweries, who came from all parts of the UK to bring us some banging beer, and to all the volunteers who helped keep the show running! And to everyone who bought a ticket, we hope you had a wonderful day and we’ll hopefully see you again next year 😉 Keep your eyes peeled for The Old Shoe Beer Fest 2027 details…

You’re probably familiar with hearing a Canadian accent behind the bar… Meet Evan, another Old Shoe Supervisor!

Evan drinks pretty much anything, cooling down in summer with a pale ale, pilsner or the odd wheat beer. When he’s wrapped up in the colder months he’s slinging back thick stouts or a toasty dark lager. “Honestly I’ll drink anything under the sun except for vodka”… he’s not fussy. Not sure what his beef with vodka is though 😪

You’ll catch him spinning rap/RNB, and he’s demanded a personal shoutout to JOZIF BADMON UNCLE LARRY 🍊 and Freddie Gibbs (please make his day and say hi)

When he’s not stimming behind the bar he’s tapped into football, the NFL and his “sweet baby child” basketball — whether it’s playing, watching or writing about it! He’s also often out and about with his dog, Marlo who you might see dotting about the bar from time-to-time, and raiding the vintage shops of Division Street.

P.S. someone bring this man Blue Diamond Almonds.

The Old Shoe Beer Festival is coming up this weekend, Saturday 22nd August. Just a quick reminder that the bar is still open for business as usual, 12pm-12am!

The festival will be taking place outside in Orchard Square and downstairs in Sheffield Plate.
If you’re interested in attending this year’s Beer Fest but haven’t got a ticket yet, the 🔗 is in our bio for advance tickets for just £10pp (£12 OTD).

Pick up your wristbands in Sheffield Plate, more details will be announced throughout the week — keep an eye on ours socials.
