There’s a new face on the pumps at the Dog, and it’s a cracking little golden bitter!

🍺 Loxley Golden Bitter – 4.2% ABV
🍻 Milestone Brewery

A proper traditional golden bitter from our friends at Milestone Brewery, right here in Nottinghamshire!

A lovely easy-drinking pint, with a refreshing character and just the right amount of bitterness. Perfect for settling in at the bar and enjoying a good old-fashioned Sunday afternoon pint. 🍺

And at 4.2%, it’s a lovely sessionable b**r for those who appreciate a proper pint of real ale.

🍻☀️ Sunday afternoons are made for the pub! 🍺

There’s something rather lovely about a lazy Sunday afternoon at The Blue Dog.

No rushing about, nowhere in particular to be. Just a proper pint, a friendly face or two and a bit of good old-fashioned village pub atmosphere. ❤️

Brewed just down the road in Melton Mowbray, it’s a lovely crisp, refreshing l***r from our friends at Round Corner Brewing.

We do love being able to offer something brewed locally, and when it looks this good in the glass, it would be rude not to have one! 😉

Whether you’re popping in after a Sunday stroll, catching up with friends or simply escaping the house for an hour or two, there’s always a warm welcome waiting at the Dog.

🍻 VAT’s the Problem! 🍻

And no, we don’t mean Vodka And Tonic… we mean Value Added Tax.

We all know how important a good local pub is. It’s somewhere to catch up with friends, enjoy a pint, share a meal and bring the community together. ❤️

But pubs across the country are facing increasingly difficult times, with rising costs putting enormous pressure on the hospitality industry.

That’s why we’re sharing the VAT’s the Problem campaign, which is calling on the Government to reduce hospitality VAT from 20% to 10%.

The campaign argues that a reduction would give pubs, restaurants and cafés some much-needed breathing room, help protect local jobs and support the future of our much-loved community pubs.

Because places like the Dog are about so much more than just pulling pints. They’re part of village life, and we’d like to keep it that way for generations to come. 💙🐾

🍔🍟 Friday Night? Sorted at The Blue Dog! 🍻

The working week is done, the weekend is calling, and we reckon that’s a pretty good excuse to treat yourself to something delicious!

It’s Burger Night at the Dog this Friday, and we’re firing up the kitchen for another evening of proper pub grub, generous portions and plenty of cheesy goodness! 😍

And just look at those loaded fries! 🤤 If that doesn’t get your appetite going, we’re not sure what will!

Here’s what’s on the menu:

🍔 Burgers – Juicy, freshly cooked burgers, stacked with all the good stuff and served with the trimmings. No tiny portions here!

🍟 Loaded Dirty Fries – Golden chips, mountains of melted cheese, delicious toppings and plenty of sauce. Messy? Absolutely. Worth it? Every mouthful!
