It’s a question I get asked quite often, so we thought we’d share a little insight into how we source our timber.
These photos show a recent tree removal involving ash dieback. Once a tree like this reaches the end of its life and can no longer safely remain standing, we believe there’s still value in the timber it leaves behind.
Leaving a tree like this in place can become a risk to people and surrounding trees. We removed the usable timber, while leaving the rotten, dead wood in place wherever possible, providing a home for insects and other small wildlife.
Removing this tree will also give younger trees more space, light and opportunity to flourish and grow.
