There is currently a lot of uncertainty around our future. One thing is certain though, this Saturday 31st October is set to be a party to remember!

We’ll be kicking things off with a spooky family disco from 5pm and then from 7pm one of our favourite bands The Rough Riders are going to be playing!

They’ve never played inside before and are really excited to do so. This promises to be an night of amazing music, dancing and fun! 🤩

Plus there will be prizes for best dressed and games and competitions throughout

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce that we will be closing and leaving The Rising Sun Twitton at the end of this month.

We really wanted to be able to stay on and continue mum’s amazing legacy, but a couple of difficult neighbours and untenable restrictions from the council have contributed towards Laura becoming seriously unwell and making it unviable for us to continue running it as we are.

On the plus side, our motto is always “any excuse for a party” and this is going to be the party to end all parties!

Our last night happens to fall on Halloween (Saturday 31st October) so expect a party starting something for families in the afternoon and going on into the evening with live music, fancy dress and our usual fun and shenanigans. We’re trying to get our favourite bands in and we’ll be running down stock so it’s set to be a party to remember…

Thank you to all of our lovely Rising Sun family for the support they’ve given us over the years and particularly the past couple of months which have been incredibly challenging.

Have Your Say on the Future of The Rising Sun Twitton

As many are aware, a review of The Rising Sun's licence is currently underway.

The review has been triggered by complaints from a small number of neighbours relating to our music events and incidents that we believe do not accurately reflect how the pub operates. We have always tried to act responsibly, ending outdoor music at reasonable times, monitoring events and working with the authorities whenever concerns have been raised.

The Rising Sun is a small community pub. Our summer events and live music help keep the business viable and support local musicians, charities and community activities.

If you believe The Rising Sun contributes positively to village life and would like to share your experience, please consider submitting comments as part of the licensing consultation.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us during what has been an incredibly difficult few weeks.

As many are aware, our beloved landlady, wife, mum, grandma and friend, Jude, sadly passed away in hospital on Tuesday 8th September after a short illness.

It was very peaceful and she was surrounded with people she loved.

We will be sharing details of the funeral in due course. We have a memory board at the pub and welcome people to come and share their memories of this amazing woman 👑❤️

The bank holiday tomorrow is LIVE MUSIC MONDAY at The Rising Sun Twitton! What’s more, it’s all provided by our wonderful local talent.

The music starts with The James Kennell band at 3pm. We first met James when he came in after playing cricket locally to sing karaoke and we knew we had to have him in to perform. He’s performed with his band several times since and it’s always a great event

They’ll be followed by Finn, a local singer who’s just starting out as a pub performer. Singing a range of popular favourites from 60s to today, they aim to create an entertaining atmosphere.
