The mesmerising I Am Kloot's John Bramwell returns to Selby this Saturday (19th Sep) for a very special solo show.

With his hugely aclaimed band, I Am Kloot, John achieved a Mercury Prize nomination for 2010’s The Sky At Night and a Top 10 chart position for 2013’s Let It All In. As a solo artist, his razor sharp wit and instantly recognisable, haunting vocal are channelled through some of the most honest and direct songwriting of our times.

John is a master writer and a supreme entertainer. This show will sound amazing in our little space!

💃 ARGENTINE TANGO MASTER - TOMORROW (12th SEP)! 💃

We can't wait to welcome one of the world's greatest tango singers, MARTIN ALVARADO, as he brings the authentic sound of Buenos Aires right here to our little corner of North Yorkshire!

Martín will be accompanied by stellar guitar quartet Gerardo Villar Y Los Aguirre for a night of Argentinian music, poetry, and culture with a repertoire that includes pieces by Piazzolla and other major tango protagonists, folkloric styles such as zamba, and original ballads.

World renowned Buenos Aires-born troubadour and global tango icon, MARTIN ALVARADO, visits Selby Town Hall this Saturday (12th Sep) accompanied by hugely acclaimed guitar quartet and Conservatorio de Banfield Julián Aguirre graduates, Gerardo Villar Y Los Aguirre.

Martín brings the authentic and passionate sound of old Buenos Aires to Selby with added 21st century flair. Audiences can expect a rich, emotional journey through classical tango, traditional Argentine folk rhythms and poetry, original ballads, and the revolutionary works of tango master Astor Piazzolla, in a presentation of Argentinian culture and art in its purest form.

We can't wait to welcome top ten charting Mercury Prize nominee and one of the country's most arresting singer songwriters - I Am Kloot's John Bramwell - for his first show at Selby Town Hall in nearly 12 years.

Nobody creates spellbinding, poignantly lyrical vignettes which tug at the heartstrings quite like John. This will be a special night in our intimate little space.

Back in deepest darkest winter, on the first weekend of January, So Choir took over the Town Hall for a joyful recreation of Shed Seven's Chasing Rainbows featuring over 130 voices.

The recording is now out, and the results are magnificent!

If you enjoy this and fancy taking part, So Choir meet at the Town Hall every Thursday morning.
